My grandfather has the same problem - he's overweight and has serious back injury which really limits his movements.

He has found that pedaling on the stationary bike works well - it's much easier on his back than a treadmill.

Also, he has cut down on his portion sizes and no longer snacks at night or drinks any beverages with sugar.

Hope this is helpful to you.

Eat less, and exercise more. There's no secret to it. Surely you know this. Why do you ask questions you already know the answer to?
Are you expecting someone to have a magic, secret pill you can take? Maybe we could slow down the earth's rotation, so there would be less gravity, or you could lash yourself to a dozen helium balloons?
Take responsibility for your situation. Get some Physical Therapy if necessary, but don't just sit there looking for excuses. Yes, losing weight may be hard to do, but it's not impossible, and you will feel so much better, both physically and emotionally when you accomplish it.

Light physical activities and nutrition. You should decide how many calories you want in your diet, and then I would recomend looking for items that are low calorie, but also low fat, but it all depends on what you are doing for your diet. The main thing for a diet to work is just to consume fewer calories than what you are burning, so lower calorie is best. But the thing about just lower calorie is that you don't want to get something that is lower calorie, but still has a ton of fat, and you don't want to get something that is low calorie but with a ton of sugar. Just look at the labels and you need to figure out what fits into YOUR diet

Do you have use of a swimming pool ? If so swim.

Keep a journal of your food intake, many times people do not realize how much they are eating.

For now just walk and exercise at your own pace.
