The process is no different in men than women.
It is just more common in women.
There are sometimes no external symptoms, sometimes just a lump, or sometimes a bewildering array of other related symptoms.
If you are at all concerned (and if there is a lump you should be!) then get it checked by a professional who will either set your mind at rest or start you on the appropriate treatment path.

If you have a lump beneath the nipple it should be removed immediately, that will prevent most of the rest of your question. I don't know your financial situation but I was off work and found breast cancer. There is a national breast and cervical cancer program that pays for everything. Again depending on your finances.

Not all cancers are the same.Different cell types present differently. Once a lump is discovered no time should be wasted.
