I don't know if this counts. We were invited over to a friends house for Thanksgiving. We arrived at 1 because we were told we were eating at 2.We ask our host what time she put the bird in the oven. She said 10AM.Needless to say we didn't eat till 5PM.She had boiled the potatoes for mashed potatoes at 2PM and let them sit in the water till 5PM. Needless to say they were like wallpaper paste. Now for the good part. I was asked to carve the turkey. When I cut into it I hit something plastic. Turns out she didn't take the giblets out when she cooked it.I believe the only thing we ate that day was dinner rolls and Turkey. The next year we brought the turkey.

Oh, that was when I attended a Birthday Party, "my first party" during my teen years. Everytime we had class parties, I always chipped in for the expenses. But since it's the Birthday of my "Chris Kringle"(sp.?) I accepted the invitation. The room was dark and I was talking with our talkative classmate at that time. But it so happened that she was invited to dance. She entrusted to me her eyeglass. But she returned and switched on the flashlight to know who I was then. Hah! when she saw me, she screamed as if she saw a ghost! So, everybody was happy to see me at the party.
When it's my turn to dance, my partner offered that he would drive me home. I said thank you but no need to do that coz I would stay in my classmate's place for the night. Oh, he kept on insisting as if he doesn't want to take a NO for an answer.
Well, what happened next was that he kept on following our car. We rounded the subdivision and it caused so much noise because the communities dogs were already barking! So, what we did was like the ones that were performed by stuntsmen. We jumped while the car was moving and hid ourselves in the dark. I was so afraid them. This is the worst dinner party I had experienced.
I must go home now. Have a nice day and GOD BLESS US ALL.

I had recently started a new job and the company had a Christmas dinner party. I barely knew anyone yet, the music was so loud that I couldn't hear a thing whenever someone tried to talk to me and the few words I did hear through the noise I didn't understand well because I didn't speak the language well yet. I didn't want to just leave, so my evening was spent sitting in noise and a cloud of smoke while watching drunk people talk to each other and dance and pretty much the only things I said all night were "What? WHAT? Sorry, I can't hear you."

When I was married to my ex-husband his boss had us over for dinner one night. The wife was a terrible cook and if that wasn't bad enough she served baked blue fish that was over cooked. I don't care much for fish so this was really a bad thing. If you've never had blue fish it's an oily fish with a super strong taste. Imagine a 3 day old dead fish that's been in the sun............eeewwwwwwwww!
