you also say that god doesn't have to answer to you about the horrible things he does. he has a reason for everything and when you're in heaven you might get to finally understand those reasons.

why is this good enough for you?

Although not of the christian faith, I do have an opinion on this.
I do not necessarily think that people enjoy feeling unworthy or underserving....regardless of the faith. But there was a sermon by Jonathon Edwards in the early 1700's called "Sinners In The Hands Of An Angery God"

As best I can remember, it makes reference that we should all be fearful because God was simply sitting there looking down and swinging all of us over the pits of hell on spider web like strings...and it is only by his grace that he didnt drop us...but had the right and the ability to at any given time.
So this taught not a loving God, but an angery god and that all should be extremely fearful of angering him...for we are all sinners and underserving.
Now..think about for a moment...this was back in the 1700's...if you grew up in a home that was influenced by that religion, chritianity, and that was the belief system that your modern day christians "evolved" from...wouldnt you be scared to question God? Would you not feel unworthy?

Just my thoughts

I am afraid you can not question what someone believes, nor can you try and push someone to stop their choices of how they think life works and how it began.
Freedom of belief had been highly disregarded throughout the ages, in the past many used religion for personal gain, so they would be worshiped or obeyed, if more than anything just fear from the wrath of god gave rulers their highest advantage.
Now these days things should change, why does it really matter why someone believes in something, don't go spoil it, religion tends to give people a sense of meaning and that is something i think no human being has the right to take from another.
Personally I am not Christian, nor do i have any other religion, but still i choose to respect and not question why people believe in their religions.
But. God/Gods are a "higher power" in basically all religions, so humans think basically like this :
Stay on gods good side, god will respect us and bring us wealth etc.
Anyway.. They do not feel "unworthy" that's an overstatement. Plus alot of good comes from religion, people believing often makes people do good things in order to get into heaven, or to be holly.
I don't have time to argue.
If you don't like it don't be christian, easy!

When God made man he made him pure and holy. God also gave man a choice. God put man in a beautiful garden. That was called Eden. In the middle of the garden there were two trees. One they were told by God not to eat from eat from. The two trees were the Tree of Knowledge and The tree of Life. They were told not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge. But they disobeyed by eating from that tree. God chased them out of the garden to keep them from the Tree of Life. They were ashamed of disobeying. God has a plan to bring man back to him. The reason for Christians don't feel worthy for God's love stems from this original sin. When the first man sinned all have sin. Therefore we are not worthy of his love and we understand this. The Ten Commandments is the law but most of us Christians have broken all of the Commandments at one time or another. It is not keeping the Ten Commandments that makes feel unworthy. No one can keep those commandments on their owns. No one is perfect. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. God has provided away to have you join him in heaven for eternity. That way is having faith in Jesus Christ. Getting to know Jesus on a personal level. Also you must be live that Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of God. You don't have to do anything religious just except that his is divinity and his love. Because his salvation is a gift.

A. My God never makes me bow down to him. I bow down to him because I love him so much I can't help but do it.
B. I am unworthy of His love. If you have kids you may understand this better. Imagine your child literally terrarizing you from the minute they where born for the rest of your life. Imagine them spitting in your face on a daily basis and and stealing from you, and basically doing everything they could to hurt you while you continually tried to love them. That is God's love. The idea of Love is that it is something you give no matter what. I know that God loves me because I am his child and not because I deserve it. If I deserved his love then I never would have hurt him and I know I do that everyday
C. God does not do horrible things. Part of love is trust/faith and I love God enough to trust his ways even when I don't understand. Again, back to the kids analogy. My kids don't ever understand why I don't let them do everything or why I do somethings that I do and quite often they get mad at me for things that I cause even though I know its for the best and that they may never understand. Yes, there are times when I get mad at God for things that happen but again, part of Love is trusting that God will do whats best for me no matter what. Also, part of God's love is the pain he feals when he has to allow us to experience hardship for a purpose. Imagine having the power to keep your kids from every bad thing but knowing that if you love them you will allow some things to happen. Also, if God was so simple that I could wrap my head around him then he wouldn't be that awesome.

I don't always and I can't speak for other Christians. Occasionally for me it's not a matter of "feeling" unworthy as it is behaving in an unworthy manner.

The True God is perfectly good...He does not do horrible things. Man chooses horrible things. If every person on this planet would behave and act completely and perfectly as God, there would no such thing as "horrible things."

God did not make us as His slaves. He made us free to do as we please...that is love...that is freedom.

Simply, feeling unworthy is the same thing as "biting the hand that feeds you."

Let's consider say, being poor. Lots of people are poor; don't have everything they want, etc. But even most of these people are still happy.

But other poor people might go out and shoot a bank teller during a robbery.

Why do people choose differently when they're in similar circumstances? God doesn't make the choice for them; he merely gives them the freedom to choose.

The remorse one might feel after murdering someone is inner reaction to their own "bad" behavior. They realize ("choose to feel remorseful") unworthy of God's love.

God does not withhold His love. This person has chosen to separate himself from God.

It's my case, it's good for me, because the guilt I feel usually causes me to at least try and alter my behavior.

I dont know about others so I will just answer for myself. I don't enjoy feeling unworthy. It is just sometimes I do.

I sometimes find it hard to believe that God loves me unconditionally just the way I am .... I have not met anyone who could love unconditionally and yet God does. And I know at this point you are saying well what about sin and free will and all that stuff. But even with his ten commandments and sin, if we do sin we can always ask to be forgiven and he does forgive us.

How many of us know someone that we can hurt so deeply and ask their forgiveness, and that person would truly forgive us and still love us.

For me, that concept is at times hard to grasp.

There is absolutely a bit of masochism involved in the Christian religion. They say things like "We're all sinners." "We're not worthy." If god created them in its image, then wouldn't they be perfect? They allow this god to do whatever horrible things it wants to them, and they still worship it and sing its praises. I find this especially jarring when you see a funeral of a child, for example. This god just took an innocent life, and they're at church singing about it. Why accept this treatment??

They fundamentally feel like evil people, and therefore they project themselves as unworthy. Still, god takes any scum, even them, which makes them feel much better.

I don't know what your talking about God Loves Me! God as a whole is said to have a mighty right hand Michael/Jesus and a fallen weaker left hand Satan. Satan is the bad Jesus/Michael is the Good. When We worship God as Christians we only give praise to the Good: Jesus. Why would anyone want to give praise to the left hand? Ignorance; it will only get them destroyed in the end because The Right hand is always stronger then the Left hand and always will be. God Bless The Mighty Right Hand

Human beings know themselves and their own motives somewhere deep down.

They know, in the end, they'll have the God they deserve. Cutting out the middle man made it more efficient.
