"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

I surely do... it saved my life.... knowing you are not perfect, nor have to be perfect frees you to be human and walking Christ-like comes with learning more about biblical truths. The first step is to take that leap of faith .... You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!

Trying is not going to kill you but it might save you, if you are positive toward seeking as you say, you will find your way. I am praying for God to reveal himself to you in Christ Jesus.

I genuinely wish to understand.

I have sinned. As you say, we all have. I do not understand how my sins are in anyway altered, improved or removed by talking it over with God. Or how Jesus having died 2,000 years ago has any impact or influence on my sins today.

There are lots of sins in the Bible, eating shell fish, touching a pig, wearing clothing made from two kinds of material.
If I were born in Old testament times, I'd rather live in an area that had never heard of these sins of the Middle Eastern God. (most people on earth hadn't)...(Asia, North and South America, Europe) In fact everywhere except the Middle East.

But Jesus message of love, charity for the poor, and forgiveness of enemies is a good one to live by.

yeah. of course. Knowing God accepts me makes me happy. no matter what my sin is God is dissapointed but forgives me. i totally agree with you.

What makes you so Christ like just because you quote some passages out of the Bible? Whats the last Christ like thing you have done?

Anyone who thinks that they are sin-free is kidding themselves.

This is why Christianity is so difficult for the world to swallow.....because it requires humility & submission on our part.

My God, on the other hand, does not need a mediator in order to give "eternal life".

in fact, it never actually says that the death that refers to, is spiritual to begin with.

so actually, its that MY God is generous and Loving enough that he gives us eternal life by default, with endless chances and always forgiving and loving and never forsaking his creation.

on the other hand, MY God gave my ancestors a certain knowlege, and with that knowlege, came the responsibility to uphold loyalty to him.

and to follow jesus, would be betraying that, and going contrary to the first several commandments.

I will stick with my perfect, absolute, infinite, omnipotent singular God instead of your polytheism.

but whatever works for you, for you, is just fine.
