How do I get my puppy to stop stealing my underwear?
Why does he dig it out the dirty laundry and play with it?? It's gross, it's always my underwear and not my clothes!

It's always my panties tho, he doesn't go for anything else!

Obviously I wash my underwear before I wear it, but he is getting it out of my laundry hamper. I can't afford to buy a new one, and why is he doing it?

It sounds like your puppy is leaning towards crossdressing, lol, but puppy's love to play so put your dirty cloths up high so the dog can not get to them. Don't leave them where he can get to them. Thank you for making my day with this question.Too funny. I had a dog for a very long time, and they just love to play , so be patient and keep everything out of the dog,s reach.

Yes it's gross. Your puppy is attracted to your body odor that lingers on your underwear. It's perfectly normal - but it's really disgusting, not to mention expensive as he may tear the fabric as he plays with it. He'll do the same with dirty socks and sweaty tee-shirts and gym clothes. But women's underwear is literally a magnet. Eeeew! And I am absolutely positive that you keep yourself clean and such. It's just the way dogs are.

But that's one reason why dogs are considered "unclean" by some faiths and cultures.

So what you might want to do until he grows out of this stage is to isolate your dirty laundry - put it in a closet and close the door - and take steps to keep it closed.

Make sure he has his own toys (no more than 2 or 3 at a time, please) to play with. You can get special toys that you can insert treats or smear with peanut butter that will attract his attention.

But puppy-proof your house - including putting your laundry in a closet and close the doors.

Some dogs are attracted to their owner's "scent." No article of clothing has more of that than undies. Not all dogs do this, of course. It looks like you're going to need a lock for your hamper!

Try putting your dirty clothes in a closet hamper or somewhere your dog can't get to.

Gross. Maybe he's attracted to the smell. I suggest putting it up higher where he can't get to it or something, or washing it soon as you take it off. Or just keeping your dirty undies in a different container maybe in your closet or something.

May I suggest storing your dirty laundry in a closet and shutting the door tight.

Unfortunately, I had the same problem with my dog, all you can do is put your dirty underwear out of reach, because the only thing he's after is your "feminine scent" whether it be creamy or bloody he'll sniff it out and hunt it down!

Throw it directly into the washing machine when you take them off, or hand wash them with some peppermint soap and hang up on the towel bar. They will no longer appeal to the puppy then.

This is a good sign that he loves you. Dogs always want to be close to their master or family and taking clothing is one way to do that.

The undies have a stronger smell then the others and he feels comfortable grabbing them instead of something else.

Don't be alarmed, be happy that he's taking yours instead of someone Else's.

He will grow out of it once he gets his dependency

Best of luck

Maybe he does not want you to wear underwear, so he is trying to destroy what you have.
