EverMom's Talking Cat: yes it's let everyone worship and believe what they will in the personal sphere, home and place of worship but keep religion out of the public and political sphere. It's the only way multi-belief communities can rub along beside each other without too much heat being generated.

Secularism doesn't need to be protected, as it will flourish by itself.

From Wikipedia:
Secularism is generally the assertion or belief that certain practices or institutions should exist separately from religion or religious belief. Alternatively, it is a principle of promoting secular ideas or values in either public or private settings.
What is a secular value? Can you name one? Just asking,
In response to you answer to my question, I don’t think that’s a secular value. That’s called tolerance and you will find it among people of faith as well. Frequently, people on this site say the world would be a better place without any religion at all. That is the same as the people who wish to force their beliefs on everybody, which, by no means, is all people of faith. To often the secular idea of freedom of faith means restricted freedom of faith to within their level of tolerance.

After reading Carson's response I felt the need to reply, Morals and values are stuff that doesn't need God, a lot of the religious use religion to promote an agenda of hatred and division whilst they preach love and tolerance but they do thier best to act in the opposite way to what they preach

Yeah I caught the irony...
Sure any time spent talking to God is very beneficial, protecting secularism, well you and God can sort that out after talking a bit more...

No Way!
I want to see the Theocrats get into another huge civil war over which sect is going to rule and outlaw the other sects.
I suspect it will be the Southern Baptist Convention against a coalition of Episcopalians and Catholics.

Well...
Secularism helps me to know that the bible is 100% correct.
And I know that I am following after God and not after the world.
If there wasn't a secular world, there would be no need to follow after Christ......for the salvation from my sins.

...What a grand idea! Your idea will create all kinds of new hope in our land.
...And then we can have even more Columbines and VA Tech type tragedies, because God has been expelled from school and we have no moral compass.
...Many like yourself will ask
"Where was God when this happened?",
...Then the answer return,"Long ago you self-sufficient types kicked Him out of schools, and public life also."
...I direct you to Psalm 53:1, which says:
...The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God."
...And last, to Proverbs 1:7 -
..."The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction."
**
===> For Chester: Sir I respectfully disagree with you. Morals have their foundation in God, and if they don't, then all of us are left to fight it out among ourselves, and then we must decide who is right, and chaos results.
**
...One more thing, a quote attributed to Teddy Roosevelt: "To educate a man in mind and not in morals, is to educate a menace to society."
