I put a guote on the front pages of my journals too:)
For me, my is where I keep my memories so that I dont forget them.
this is the one on the first page of my book:
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."
and the quote that will end my journal (in 2 pages) will be:
"We do not remember days; we remember moments."
Here are some other ones i like:
"Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose."
"A memory is what is left when something happens and does not completely unhappen." Edward de Bono
"Memory is a child walking along a seashore. You never can tell what small pebble it will pick up and store away among its treasured things." - Pierce Harris
"The existence of forgetting has never been proved: We only know that some things don't come to mind when we want them." - Nietzsche
"Memory is a complicated thing, a relative to truth, but not its twin."

Well, I think the quotation "Never put off for tomorrow what you can do today" or " Life is not a series of chances, it is a series of choices" because it has a wonderful thought and I think it will help you in your everyday life, that's all!

I would tell you the one I came up with, but I already used it and it's mine, so I wouldn't want you to use it also! How about something from Walt Whitman or Henry David Thoreau? Anything from the book of Proverbs or Psalms in the bible would be good as well!

Self Pity
I never saw a wild thing
sorry for itself.
A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough
without ever having felt sorry for itself.

This is pretty much what journals are all about, at least to me. I knew as I wrote them that even though they provided an excellent place for brain (and heart, and psyche) dump, they were mainly a map of me.
