I know its a long shot, but, I want to find a Canadian air force troop that was stationed here during World War two, he is my Grandmothers biological father and we just want to pay our rerspects, as he probably isnt still living. Although he knew about my nan and it was all out in the open.
Does anyone have any clue where there might be a list of people or some way of tracing him, we know that he went back to Canada after the war, a good clue where he lived etc, I have been surfing for days and cant come up with anything.

Well, his name is Peter Boveris, he was Greek and came from Canada, Toronto, owned a resturant near Niagra Falls, had an ex-wife (so he said) I dont know his birth date, but he was stationed in or just outside Bournemouth in dorset. My Nan was born in 1943. If you could help me I would appreciate it SO much, Thank you.

I presume "here" is in England. I have access to British, Canadian, and United States information through Ancestry.com, so if I knew more about your Nan's dad, perhaps I (or some other poster) could help you. You would need to give as much detail as possible starting with his name, possible birth date, and home town, and province.

My dad was a twenty-something Texan stationed in Cambridgeshire and attached to the US 8th Air Force during World War II. For the rest of his life, he shared with his family back home how welcome the English made him feel.

P. S. Using your information, on Ancestry.com, I found a Columbo Boveris who was born in 1886 in Italy who was living in Chariton, Macon, Missouri in 1911, but I didn't find a Peter Boveris.

Where is "Here"? That gives us a clue where to look.

Might be a good place to start. I only have a USA subscription so either you can run his name yourself or one of the other lovely people on YA with an international subscription might volunteer.
