Initially, we watched millions of illegals and hispanics with Mexican and other Latin American flags. Some had bad attitudes and clenched hands as if to provoke Americans to their plight. Many demonstrations were not planned and done in poor taste. They were abrupt and interfered with schools and law abiding communities.
We watched in disbelief as they screamed Viva Mexico! This was supposed to have won us over, of course. After the fact, hispanic and latin politicians and other racial groups started demanding that we allow every illegal to stay plus develop a plan to allow others on a work program. If you have 20 million illegals, why do you need more for a work program?
When everything started to simmer down, hispanic editors started writing and calling folk nazis, racist, bigots, and any other negative descriptive word. THE ONLY THING THEY ACCOMPLISHED out of this dog and pony show was to wake a sleepy giant, the American people.

I think that they helped a lot! Seeing all these illegals matching in the streets, demanding rights, disrespecting our flag and our country was too much to take!
The other thing that has helped is talk radio. These people have informed the voters about what is happening and what that horrible amnesty bill would have done to us. Americans are pissed!
The media has stated that by election time, voters will have forgotten all about this. While we do have short memories on things, in this case - NOT A CHANCE!
NEVER VOTE FOR A PRO-AMNESTY CANDIDATE!!!

This did not happen once but many times and is still happening. One elementary school in Texas made national news when on a fiesta day someone told the assembled parents to please rise and say the pledge of allegiance to the flag of....... Mexico. They said a parent volunteer made the mistake. I doubt it was a mistake. How do you get out of elementary school in this country and not know what the pledge of allegiance means? Or allegiance itself for that matter.
It's on their cars and in their shops.
If they want to be here so badly, try flying the American flag.
Check out these web sites and see what I mean.
summermoon is dead wrong Europeans wait longer than anyone.

I went to two of those protests as a US citizen I have every right to protest. I waved an American flag as did all my compatriots. There was a mix of other flags but by far most of the flags were from the US both times. The only thing they shouted is 'si se puede' there was no shouting of 'viva mexico' because the people were from different countries and that isn't what the march was about. It was about just immigration reform. People want fairness in the system and there is nothing wrong with that. After going through the system with my husband I would say there is something patently unfair about a person having to wait 22 years to immigrate simply because they are brown. If you are white you do not wait, you simply by a ticket and fly here.
Also, the marches by civil rights leaders and blacks in the 50's and 60's weren't popular either, people got killed and whites were even killed for assisting them. Ever watch Mississippi Burning? Sorry but this country has a long way to go before it sheds it's racist tendencies. I already had one racist here charged with terrorist threats and civil rights violations because he would go by our house everyday shouting epitaphs and threats because we moved into his lily white neighborhood and he didn't like Indians or Hispanics being here. What I noticed about people like this is they tend to be low level hicks. They drive old raggedy trucks and fly the rebel flag in the back. While he sits in jail I still live in my home and will continue to do so as a citizen of this country.

Yes, I believe they are responsible for the way we feel about their cause. Being called a racist for wanting our laws to be followed is also a huge thorn.

He said nothing about a civil war in his post.
BTW...a civil war is war between citizens of a country...illegal aliens are NOT citizens, and are NOT even legally in this country. Therefore it would not meet the terms of the definition even if "Americans did go to war"against illegal aliens...

As an American yourself you might not notice how ridiculously all media (and from that, the people) tout their patriotism. Mexicans living inside USA's borders would naturally feel put down, and going out and waving Mexican flags makes them feel better.
Being illegal is not much of a problem- they are managing aren't they?
You might be right in that they didn't accomplish anything positive.

You are right I finally agree with a bigot! However, this did happen only once. The protesters heard the criticism and changed their approach by wearing white and carried the American flag at their next rally! They were protesting a bill that would have made illegal immigrants felons, so don't twist the truth! I suggest you post more stupid questions if you want to get schooled! Illvato strikes again!
