If you think you are a spiritual individual, (for bonus points) how did you get that way or why do you think you are? Short answers will be immediately disregarded, for how can your answer be of any help to one striving to live in a spiritual way and get spiritual answers? Isn't this a Q&A forum? Shouldn't you have respect for the earnest who are here? And if you don't get that, why even bother answering, unless you have nothing better to do? And if you have nothing better to do, why are you here? (This may require a spiritual answer - oh what a paradox!!!)

Spirituality is a wanting to please God. Aware He is with us.

You start to get that way by pondering the things you see and things that happen in this wicked world and ask why.

Spirituality gets you to wanting to know God.

Sad to say, Satan affects that by throwing so many false religions out there to keep one distracted and away from knowing the True God.

Joh 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Spirituality brings comfort and warm emotions that are not likely to be felt without it. Spirituality is not higher, equal or lower the to knowledge; though some say it is lower some say it is higher, in fact it is your own perception that adds it on one simple line of your existence. It is not a fact that all intellectuals believe in a God or are spiritual; some do some not. As for I have doubts about God some times but I never forget about my spirit. The spirit can rise you up again when you have fallen and again I say comfort you in any way possible to recover yourself.

Spirituality is the awareness of your connection to the Divine and the desire to communicate with your Creator. This is in direct contrast to religion which is a set of outdated rules and regulations with built in penalty clauses. Spirit is creative. Religion is destructive IMHO.

Religion is adhering to a set of doctrines or teachings. The teachings of Jesus and the Bible are the most important teachings in the world as they teach us about the forgiveness and love of God found in Jesus which leads us to spirituality. Let me explain. We are all sinners Jesus came to die on the cross and rise from the grave to save us from our sin. When we accept Jesus as our Savior then we are filled with the Holy Spirit. At that time we are then able to commune with God on the spiritual plane. Not just in our intellect but with our spirit having fellowship with His Spirit who now dwells inside of all believers in Jesus. Spirituality then takes on the meaning of having a relationship with God through the Spirit of God after we accept the Son of God. It means we no longer focus on the things of the flesh or the world but on the things of God through the Spirit.

I was driving to work the other day and it had stormed pretty heavily - but then I saw in the distance a wonderful sunset and the rays of the sun coming through the black clouds!
I was listening to a cool song by groove armada simultaneously - and then I had goosebumps - oh yeah it was good!
