We are going on a holiday to Cairns in late October and looking for some good quality self contained accomodation. It would need to have two bedrooms (2 adults , one child) .... ideally we are thinking of something along the lines of a small house / cottage. Can anyone recommend and provide links ?

Trinity Beach is 15 mins drive away from the city and if you saw the place you won't want to leave ! A two min walk to the beach.
They have alot of accommodation down there especially on the esplanade.
Marlin Cove is great - I got my 2nd cousin a place there (70 yr old) I think he paid $220 per week for a self contained 2 bedroom unit. It was great. You won't be able to get your child out of the lagoon there...
They charge alot more for tourists on per might basis... it depends how long you are staying for - a lease is alot cheaper. Anyhow they have a price caclulator online.
