the only problem is when you have done the pendent search do you need to know how to build it, like all the wire connections and stuff or do they help you with it and you give basic info like what the size of the memory is and stuff

The patent office needs to see it work see what it is that is different to anything else invented up to now and thats it ~~

Years ago you had to provide a working prototype, but that changed in 1998. Now all you have to do is explain it well enough in your description that anyone in the industry understands it well enough to build it.

Just stay away from marketing firms or invention companies, they are complete ripoffs.

You can spend about $250.00 to have a patent search done and about $200.00 to file a provisional application yourself. This will give you a one year time frame before you have to file your utility patent, mean while you can be looking for investors.
