I can't do it face to face as she will cry & i am a terrible coward.
I can text her but she will only call & call & call so I will have to change my number.
I could fax her at her work as the shame of someone putting the fax on her desk will mean she will never call again.
I could try to sleep with one of her friends that are sure to tell her and achieving my planned objective.
I could tell her about my wife but i think she will still hang around for more.
I could just change my number as she has never seen where I live or work, this would be easiest as i could tell my mobile company that i had my phone stolen & then not pay the extra to keep the old number.
I could accuse her of sleeping around & get one of my friends to call & text her so that i have evidence before i start shouting.
Very confused, can you please help?

I'm sorry that you are a coward, but doing it to her face would be the best thing to do. The second best would be over the phone. Sending her a text or fax is just cold hearted, but it seems like you don't have too much of a problem with that. Tell her about your wife and expect her to tell your wife about herself. You put yourself in this situation, so now you get to deal with the consequences. Sorry.

There are some things that a man has to do and this is one of them.
1. Be a man about this
2. Bear in mind that you can't resort to the easy way out due to it's repercussions.
3. Tell her straight because creating a story just to break it "gently" will only create more damage.
4. Don't do anything stupid again because you sound like some momma's boy.

It seems you already mull a lot on that, just you are looking for what others are saying in support of one of the methods you have already thought of.
As per my suggestion, You should do it face to face by giving a hand written letter for break-up. She would either shout or be silent for the moment but in both cases your part will be perfectly done.
If it is difficult for you to write letter, then buy a card and write clear message indicating that you are no longer interested in her. but in both the cases do it face to face.

I don't think any of what you've suggested are ways of letting her down gently. The most gentle way of breaking up is when you two are alone... she can cry... you can cry for being a coward.

I would buy a card
and write all your feelings down in the card. Wish her well for the future and post it to her.
