Lack of sleep does lead to hallucinations and beyond 7-9 days without sleep can cause death.

Maybe insanity leads to insomnia.....So try this while you're trying to figure out which one came first...Go to google and search up "sleep hygeine" and read all the different tips from the website and start working them into your life. So easy an insane insomniac could do it.

NO. I have noticed over the years how the medical profession grasp hold of something related to the medical side of life and run with it big time and using it to scare people into going to their doctor's for no reason. They have used this one here in Australia ( Lack of Sleep ) to scare people and I think it stinks. If your body is tired enough it will sleep.

I used to have insomina and I was awake for 5 days in a row and I felt fine acually and not even tired but I was sooo wanting to sleep but couldn't! I still have sleepness nights and finally fall asleep around 5am. Nah I don't think it leads to insanity well maybe..it might make you grouchy or very mellow..I know I couldn't concentrate
