Try eating five to six mini meals a day this will accelerate your metabolism since your body recognizes it does not have to store as fat for energy.
Eat high fiber foods esp. at breakfast try old fashion oatmeal. Avoid refined carbs such as white bread, white rice, any thing that has bleached flour. This type of carb is converted into sugar easily since it is already broken down, when this happens your insulin will spike telling your body to go into fat storing mode. Complex carbs- whole wheat bread, oatmeal (products that have 3 or more grams of fiber) take time to be broken down in your digestive system (which uses more calories) and make you feel full. They do not spike you insulin.
Every meal should consist of a complex carb, protein(fish, chicken, milk) and a fruit or vegetable.
One thing to avoid is soda which contains high fructose corn syrup (HFC). This type of "sugar" automatically gets stored as fat. Read labels of the products you buy and avoid anything that contains HFC which wont be easy. If it contains less than 6 grams per serving that is acceptable but the best thing to do is to avoid it altogether.
