Should I ask my rheumy for something stronger? Started with Amitryptiline as well, but it takes time to kick in.

i had to look that (name) up to make sure i knew what you were talking about..i also have fibro& arthritis&chronic fatigue.Dihydrocodeine is Panlor*(generic) or generic forSynalgos.one has aspirin & the other doesnt.they also have caffeine, one thing i have found that aggravated my symptoms.though we cant live w/out it,getting caffeine in my pain pills didnt work for me.N-seds, (celibrex, mobic, ibuprofen etc.) can help,if your stomach can take it..take them only with food.they are very acidic.try to keep you pain pills on an acetaminophen(tylenol)base, like the Panlor, but w/out the caffeine,,as in Lorcet Plus, vicodin or Percocet.these all are scheduled drugs.schedules ll & scheduled lll for the ones youre taking& the Lorcet Plus(hydrocodone).all even yours can become addictive, but there is a difference between taking it when you need it & when you don't. the Amitriptliine is an antidepressant, which we all need when we tend to hurt all the time & it may help w/sleep also,i also have that problem. Go back & tell him it aint working.Get you a pill book at W/mart or K/mart(i did & i got a doctor to give me some of his"monthly prescribing references"or mpr's .i look up just about everything.&have studied a lot on this.sometimes people dont understand when you have this pain,& think "well it's all in their head"cause it wont go away,it comes back, some days worse than others.& they can't SEE the pain, like in a cancer patient or so..i stay on the heat pad a lot, watch the TEA intake,it has an acid in it that builds up in the muscles where the fibro is& just makes it worse, sugar does too...i hope this helps some.my address is not hidden if you wanna write. good luck & may you have a lot of good days & enjoy them when you have them!

I use 120mg dihydrocodeine, twice a day for Fibro and 40mg Amitriptyline at night. I've tried smaller doses/other meds but this works best for me. If your meds aren't touching the pain tell the doctor - but don't assume more of the same is better... other meds may work better for your body than the DHC. You might try for a referral to a pain management clinic if they have them where you are? I find I also need to use a lot of non-drug techniques to manage the pain but get the pain meds right and you have space to work on those ;-)

Amitryptiline was a joke for me. I took up to 75 mg and all it did was make me sleep. Never heard of this hidydrocodeine - but I'm going to look it up. My sister and I both take Fiorciet or the generic form of it bultalbital BTAP - I think it is. It is caffiene based too. The pain is bad. Anyone finds anything good for fibro - please let the rest of us know!!!

Wow! i never think of my self to use them, its gonna hurt me more. What i can say is , all drugs like that, even though from pharmacy, will be considered to txifying our cellulars level. Which means our cell is protecting them selves from the toxin by getting harder and stronger, in this case at a certain point, we the host just simply accept it by saying " the drugs doesnt work, and the cells have learned what the drugs is all about without we knowing it.
The problem is the pain remains there. If i were you, i would take a chance to ask a dietician of a good diet to maintain my general health, hm... check the dr. mercola site. while by the time do yoga or pilates to encounter the pain ( sure it is gonna be so painfull).
Good luck.

If it is not helping then you should tell your doctor and see what he suggests. Fibro pain is so complicated, it takes awhile to find the right cocktail of drugs to treat it. Ask your doctor for Lyrica, it works very well for my Fibro pain.
