The anxiety the pills caused should gradually go away when you stop taking the pills. I don't know when you stopped taking the pills, but it can take a few weeks to start feeling back to normal once you have stopped taking them because you are going through withdrawal symptoms. The pills change your brain chemicals, so once you've stopped the pills it takes a while for your brain chemicals to get back to normal. So give it some time. Don't take any medicine for your anxiety because it could really mess you up more. If your anxiety doesn't subside in a couple of months, then you may need to see your doctor. I've suffered withdrawals from these kinds of medications before and it took a couple of months to really feel like myself again.

Sounds like you need to talk to someone in the know about these things. The panic attacks sound related, but could be just a response to the trauma of what has happen to you through taking this medication. Learn some relaxation techniques and get help for the panic attacks and anxiety before they become a chronic problem. Just remember that it is your body's way of dealing with the overwhelming event that just happened. Good luck!

Hi, sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. The following steps will eliminate (or at least significantly reduce) your panic attacks and help your depression:

1.Breathe properly - if you control your breathing, you control panic. As soon as you notice the signs of anxiety, check your breathing: breathe in slowly through your nose pushing your tummy out (to the count of 5 or so). Breathe out slowly and for a bit longer (to the count of 7 or so) through your mouth. Do not breathe rapidly or shallowly (in the chest area). This will soon restore the balance of oxygen and you will feel a lot better.

2. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy! CBT is proven to be the most effective thing for panic attacks, depression and anxiety etc. It takes a bit of work, but it is super effective. (After 15 years of panic attacks, mine stopped completely). You can speak to your doctor about taking a course or you can take a course for free online at: www.livinglifetothefull.com

3. Try relaxation exercise tapes (progressive muscular relaxation). They really make a difference if you practise often enough (i.e. twice a day). They will also help you sleep better if done at bedtime. You can get free downloads online. E.g.: http://www.studentservices.utas.edu.au/counselling/audio_resources/index.html

With each step practise makes perfect. (i.e. practise the steps every day, not just when you are feeling bad). I hope you feel better soon. Best of luck!

Anti depressants shouldn't have any influence to your pill. I'm on zoloft and ativan... The one thing i've ever been advised is antibiotics are the only matters that cut back the result of the capsule.

Poor you. Your parents have made you take one of the dangerous depression meds that should never be prescribed to young people, and certainly not to healthy people! They make you ill, as you have already realized! Now you should stop taking them but VERRRRRY SLOWLY!!!!!!!! Otherwise you will get really bad withdrawal symptoms. You should get help from someone who knows Zoloft and the like are not for young people.

Anxiety is a harsh and more rare side-effect of some antidepressants. My pills say to consult my doctor immediately if I get anxiety from them.

dont take them anymore, suggest to your parents they take the pills instead.. i use prescriptions and they are not all created equal, never forget what reaction you had to one pill, so in the future it doesnt happen again.. BE CAREFUL<< close friend at young age tried to kill herself, but only after her parents made her take pills her body did not need..
