I don't understand why the majority thinks wine tastes good. Do the people that love it, drink it with the same mentality, as someone drinking a soda? I mean it doesnt even taste like grapes anymore, just bitter liquid. Champagne is how all wines should taste like...alcoholic grape juice. I can understand beer tasting the way it does, but not wine. Actually the only wine I like and would drink tons of is Ice Wine. Now thats how i always imagined wine to taste like...or even 50% ice wine, 50% regular. Even hard cider still tastes like apple juice. Is it actually sweet for normal people, and maybe I just have too much of a sweet tooth for it to register? It doesn't even look like people like drinking it at a restaurant. I only see people sipping it.

I'm sure alot of people could go on and on about the complexity of different wines, and layers of taste, the wines personality... so on and so forth. I however think that if you can get used to it (I can get down on a decent Merlot from time to time), wine can be a really cheap, effective alternative to beer. Most wine is at least twice as alcoholic as beer, so you can drink socially without looking like a redneck chugging PBR. I think in alot of ways it's alot like caviar or escargot... people do it because it's expensive. And it'll get you drunk!

If I was drinking wine to get blasted, I'd drink Manischewits or Mogan David. It is very sweet. they make several flavors.

If I am drinking wine with a meal, then I will drink much dryer wine. Usually,I add some sweetener to the wine I make. Not alot. I take it from a 10 ( very dry) to maybe a 7. Some wines, I leave alone since my sister and her husband and the Doctors I work with prefer it that way.

I've only been making wine for about 6 years but the finished product of what I make now is very good compared to when I started by making sweet homemade wine. So far, I have only made about 6 types, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chianti, Liebfraumilch, Riesling, California Red, and Merlot.

The juices are going up in price but I still make the best of these for about $3.75 per bottle.

Not everybody likes wine any more than everybody likes mushrooms. People drink wine because during fermentation and aging it changes character , it's the influence of yeast and the character it imparts to the wine. Other inputs can be the effect of cask aging, giving it a 'woody' nuance. French oak has a different effect to American oak and even the type of yeast and the method of fermentation, - cold or ambient temperatures used, grape skins included in the fermentation or not, all these can be used by the winemaker to impart his own ideas on the final product. Don't give up on wine because it tastes 'bitter' to you at this moment in time, try a slightly sweet wine and always sip it with food of some kind. You don't have to follow the old adage of 'red wine with red meat' and 'white wine with chicken or fish'. They may be the general preference but 'beauty is in the mouth of the beholder'- the only person who can tell you if a wine is good is you. Generally speaking, the longer you drink wine the drier your palate seems to prefer. Good luck.

This will be a hard one cause I can't come up with or want to say there is a band or artist I dislike. But what I can say is, for fans of music always keep an open ear, there is way to much good music to dislike and other kind and the reason I say that I don't like hurting someone else's feeling's when it comes to music, I just wish people would listen to music instead of watching video's. Then they would get a better understanding of the music. I did answer your other question by the why, and I do try and answer all my contact questions first, and I enjoy answering your's and others questions all the time. Sorry for ramblin' on take care dave
