In Europe, if you didn't and they could prove it, you could be arrested for breaking the law. Same if you didn't hire a Gay or Old person and you did it because they were Gay or Old.

Is the Atheist the best qualified person for the job I need done? If so definately, if not I would hire the person best qualified for the job regardless of their religious beliefs and affiliations..

I might. It would depend on what I was hiring him to do.

I would not hire one to be a Christian preacher for obvious reasons. I would consider hiring one for other jobs if the qualifications matched up.

If you hire based on religion or non religion, you are breaking the law, pure and simple.

Yes, I would hire anyone from any faith and lack thereof.

People aren't required to put their religious affiliation on an application, and it generally doesn't come up in interviews. And for good reason too, it would be very unethical to hire someone based on their religion

Of course! By law you can not inquire about a persons religious beliefs, so how would I know. They don't have a certain look or smell. LOL Even if they told me in an interview, it would make no diff to me. I enjoy diversity around me.

are you saying this on the note that atheists would misbehave?

atheists only believe in this life, why would they want to mess it up with crime? atleast christians know they have an afterlife of some kind no matter what they do
