My cousin is 17 years old, and lives in America. He is a muslim, and religious. He wanted to move to Dubai or Sharjah in the UAE, but the immigrants are skrewing it up, with their alcohol. Is there any alcohol in Saudi? How bout Oman?

Some of you that answered, think that my cousin wants alcohol. He DOES NOT! He just wants to know what country has the least alcohol consumers, because he does not want to live near them. Also what country has more arabs than immigrants?? He does not want to live near a lot of alcohol consumers or immigrants. So which country meets his needs? Oman? Saudi Arabia?

Definitely Saudi Arabia. Thats where he should move. There is least alcohol there. 100% Islam, and its a religious country.

There is something about your question I do not understand:
Is your cousin an American now skrewed by his own folks or is he an "immigrant" who does not want to live in his own country.

Before he gets so concerned about immigrant 'skrewing' him up with their alcohol, he better thinks about who will be his sponsor.

Regarding alcohol: In Saudi alcohol is forbidden, but a black market exist and like an other answerer said already, that's a different story.

In Oman foreigners are allowed to buy alcohol when they have license issued by their embassies. In the UAE these license are issued by the police departments of the different Emirates.

I really can't see your cousins problem. If he does not want to be bothered by people consuming alcohol, he just should stay away from them. Easy to do. In the countries mentioned buy you (beside Saudi) foreigners are served alcohol only in restaurants/clubs/bars connected to hotels which are licensed to serve the spirits.

But anyway: how does a 17 year old want to manage it on his own unless he is a student and be sponsored by a school. And your cousin also should not forget that he he will be an "immigrant" then too.

If he can find a sponsor he should think about relocating in Saudi, Kuwait, Libya or Iran where alcohol is banned and only a black market exists.

Take care and all the best for the two of you.

No there is no alcohol in Saudi Arabia. If you are caught drinking alcohol or even have alcohol in your home you can be arrested and thrown in jail by the Muttawa. UAE might have alcohol in it. I'm not sure about Oman. Dubai has whores as well. If your cousin is Muslim then he should know that drinking is a sin in Islam. My husband is from Saudi Arabia and we're both Muslims.

Alcohol is not allowed into Saudi Arabia at all, nor in Kuwait or Oman. But Saudi is the toughest country where alcohol consumption leads to imprisonment & a big fee. Although, there is alcohol in Aramco, but that's like a different story.

Officially there is no alcohol in Saudi Arabia. But if you have good contacts may be you can get it illegally. Besides Saudi Arabia, Oman and UAE have alcohol but officially i think Muslims are not allowed to drink there too.

saudi arabia is the best option, i lived there my whole life before i moved here. they don't sell alcohol, and they don't have bars. actually its all islamic law. you get punished there if you get caught with alcohol. i don't know about sharjah and oman, but in dubai there are alcohol consumers because tourists are there all the time.

You can get anything in Saudi Arabia, including those "haram" things. It's a matter of where and what price you are willing to pay. But when you caught, the punishment will be severe, especially if you're not Saudi.
Do you know they can make alcoholic drink by fermentation of dates?
