Why liberal and moderate (so called) Muslims, try to justify their sinful acts and try to modify Islam in their own way?
I think this flexibility of the option of forgiveness in Islam, according to the situation and ones intention, covers the demand of adaptability, for rest of the time, for all comming generations.
Do you think Islam is already liberal and moderate, without any further modification in it?

Yes i do, There is no need for us to adjust anything to cover sinful acts, therefore people should think twice before trying to cover up their mistakes. I know we are not perfect but we should strive to avoid sinful acts which we are aware is not probited especially in the western world.
The restrictions are there for a reason.
God knows best.

If the meaning of "liberal Islam" which some people thinks that Islam will give them the permission to commiting sins.... thats not the correct meaning of Islam. Islam is moderate and liberal but Islam have specified the meanings of moderation & liberality. Islam have specified some boundaries to liberality & moderation. Liberality in Islam does not mean that people can commit sins on the name of Islam. Thats not true. People can not commit sins on the name of "flexible Islam".

Islam is a completed perfected religion. These people who claim that they are moderate or liberal Muslims are not. They are going against all the teachings of Islam. Islam has given us all the solutions for everything in life. There is no need to change it to keep up with the time. If they say it is ok to do one thing that is haraam in Islam next day they will say it is ok to do another thing. If liberal means thinking it is ok to have sex with anyone at any time and place, then no Islam is not liberal. I am a Muslim...Not a liberal nor am I a moderate.

Islam is liberating man through limits and boundries. We are given a field with boundries to graze our sheeps (desires) so that wolves may not eat away. We will be secure and find ahppiness within its limits.
Islam is also moderate religion. Islam is between the east and the west. West denies God and east takes monostheism as their way. Islam is a balanced religion.

the moron who claims islam is "complete" and has "all the answers for all the answers...IF ONLY IT WAS IMPLEMENTED" is just like all the other morons who've never analyzed islam. this moron, i am sure, has never read the hadiths nor the qur'an in its completion with serious focus, intensity, and deliberation.
islam is not moderate; religion cannot be moderate. muslims justify things because the majority--99% if not more--have no clue what their religion really is. they just obligated to defend it. so they talk out of their butts. NO religion can be adaptable to a free and open society. the two are mutually exclusive. the only place islam will be considered a complete religion is in a highly patriarchal society with a poor economy.
and no, saudi arabia doesn't count; monkeys can sell oil. but, even there, the society is obviously man lead.

Islam is perfect as it is in the Qur'an and Sunnah! There cannot be any reformation or changes... Islam is perfected and complete in every way. I think that there needs to be reform in the way we follow Islam. We must follow the fundamental principles of Islam... only then will we be truly on the straight path! Allah (God) knows best!

Correct me if I am wrong Behemoth, but in the bible it says that non - believers should be killed by Christians:
"They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman". (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

Yes, in my opinion Islam is already liberal and moderate. restrictions imposed on Muslims are the ultimate freedom...
As islam orders us not to have sex except by marriage it's not restricting us.. it is freeing us... For Marriage is love My brother.. and if a woman loved Muhammad Ishfaq she wont say: "Let's have sex", she'd say: "I want you to be the father of my babies".. That's the difference.
Being free to run for every woman, go for that breast or else, is a situation like a sniffing dog, it's slavery to lust, not freedom.
Being free to drink wine and get drunk turns the man from a productive creature to a rotten corpse with no mind... it's not freedom, freedom requires a full awake mind to understand it.
Being restricted by Allah in certain matters is the ultimate freedom.. we don't worship our joys, we can control ourselves.. we are humans, apart from animals who have no restrictions in sex for example...
"And had We willed We could have raised him by their means, but he clung to the earth and followed his own lust. Therefor his likeness is as the likeness of a dog: if thou attackest him he panteth with his tongue out, and if thou leavest him he panteth with his tongue out." 7:176
"Hast thou seen him who chooseth for his god his own lust? Wouldst thou then be guardian over him?" 25:43
Marhama:
This issue is too big, the one you raised, well said .. That is the reason of muslims' weakness.
