Christians,The Bible says Delight your self in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Is it wrong to pray for the desires of you heart and if it is not what are godly ways to petition the Lord for the things you need as well as the things you want?
Does certain things take time to achieve? What are godly ways to wait on Gods timing for the things we would like to have and what is a good way to be content in the Lord?

Pray for your request then say "thy will be done".
Meaning if this is what He wants you to have.
Psalms 37:7 Rest in the lord and wait patiently for Him.
John 15:7 If you abide in me and my words abide in you, ask whatever you will and it shall be done for you.

I've seen this is my own life and it's miraculous to watch HIM move things around so my prayer could be answered. Listen to the still voice of the Holy Spirit within you and wait patiently.

I would think that God knows what the desires of our hearts are even better than we know. God always answers prayer, just sometimes the answer is "No." Always be sure that whatever it is you seek, you seek first God's will.

Check out Matthew 6:33 and 7:7-12. In fact, read the whole Sermon on the Mount--Matthew 5 - 7--it answeres most of the questions you're asking, including some that are only implied.

When we are in a close reelationship with God, Our desires will be overcome by His desires. Therefore it is not us who desire anymore But God in us. Still then, there will be circumstances that desires come out of our flesh, ou self. Be careful as to discern between godly desire and yours.
Therefore it will not be any mistake asking God for what we desires.

Another - dont let your desire come by comparing youself with your neighbour. The that desire is becuase of your self - that is called lust. BUT whatever you need, you can definitely ask God. Howmcuhever God blesses you Remember the God who blessed you and dont take the credit for yourself or put a pride on your face. Remember what God did to Nebuchadnezzer.

Then, there is a time for every thing. I am now working in a temporary position in a firm and they have asked me to try meanwhile looking for something elsewhere. Didnt get till now, more than 3 months still, I know it is in His plan.

He MAKES ALL THINGS BEAUTIFUL IN HIS TIME.
God Bless you and grant all the desires of your heart I pray in JESUS CHRIST's name I pray. AMEN

You can ask God for anything at anytime. I don't believe there is a right or wrong way to ask. Just ask with a pure heart. For instance you would not ask God to harm an enemy of yours, of course.

Remember that sometimes God can answer with: No, not yet. Or, I love you too much to grant that prayer. He can even answer no, knowing that something would not be good for you.

A good way to be content in the Lord is to know and remember that even when bad things happen, he can use them for good.

God bless you.

When we delight in the Lord He will put His desires in our hearts. Those desires He put in our hearts will surely come to pass as they will be according to His will and are in His time. The desires of our heart must be contrasted to the desires of our flesh, classified as the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. Our prayers should seek what God desire for us to have at each moment of time for He know best about what we need to develop and mature in our walk with Him to become more and more like Jesus. A good way to pray is to pray in the Spirit to demonstrate our reliance on the Holy Spirit to pray for the working of God's perfect will in our lives.

I believe the desires of your heart are what God desires. Only God knows the heart and only He knows what is best for us. A lot of times we get frustrated waiting on his promises but if we got them when we thought we ought to have them then we may make a total mess of them. One thing that the bible speaks of is He knows what we have need of before we ask. My advice to you is to start thanking God for those things you desire and by doing this you are showing that you have faith and you believe that He is going to come through. Also, "be not weary in well doing, in due season you will reap if you faint not".

delighting in the lord is the same as trusting in him, loving him, having faith in his power to come through in times of struggle.the desires of your heart is more about peace, love, and eternity in heaven.
the title of the chapter is "trust in the lord".
commit your way to the lord
rest in the lord
