I am a Christian.
Definition
A person who has an individual relationship with God and display brotherly love for even their enemies to the point of helping their enemies, but not being foolish by this for as being friends with there enemy or someone that is stalking them, or not pursuing justice against this person... the Bible wants us to be wise and not foolish.

My father was a minister and military chaplain. I went to church regularly and read the Bible frequently. I believe that I am now an atheist even though my parents were kindly and loving but somewhat absorbed in their personal pursuits. They were rather likable folks.
Christians are those people who say they are Christians. There are lots of different kinds of Christians. Most are regular pleasant folks. Some are really sick and use religion to indulge their pursuit of one or more of the deadly sins.
I like Jimmy Carter's brand of religion and find George's and Chaney's contemptible.

Christian refers to Christ Jesus. It was derived from his name as Christ. Meaning a follower of Jesus and as follower of Jesus, the laws of God and the teachings of Jesus written on the bible be obeyed and be respected by mankind or his believers. That is why you will not be considered a true christian when you do not follow all the teachings of Jesus.

christians follow the saviour we call Christ. by the act of following Him, you make yourself a Christian just like if somebody says he came from Mars, we'd call him a Marsian.
But being a Christian means a little deeper than that because first one has to undergo through the ordinances required to become on. John the Baptist said that to follow the Christ one needs to repent of his sins, and then be baptized of the water and receive the Holy spirit. you then become a Christian and to maintain being one, you need to observe all the commandments and emulate the life of Him from whom the word Christian was derived from . . the Christ.

Christian: Like Christ.
Labels are barriers. People become hung up on labels and forget what the labels represent.
A person's beliefs are defined by their ACTIONS. What do you call an atheist who behaves in a Christ-like manner?

Very intolerant towards other religions. Most of them. There are some who are naturally good natured, but most aren't even true "Christians". They call themselves so, because it makes them feel better, not because they have actually read and followed the bible.
My religion, however, is one I've created myself. It fits me perfectly. No, it doesn't have a name, and no, I am not interested in getting anyone to "join", because I believe no two people have the exact same beliefs. Some just fall to the sef-marketing of certain religions, because they are made to sound perfect.
I like exploring different religions from far and near, and gathering whatever wisdom I can from each one. There's things I like and dislike in every religion, and I feel that liking _most_ of the religion does not justify submitting to every one of its guidelines.
There's many things that remain undefined of course, such as what happens after death, creation, the existence of a god, and such, but that doesn't bother me. I accept all of them as a possibility, but do not firmly believe in any. There's not enough proof of anything. I believe obsessing over ANY religion that isn't exclusively yours, and yours alone is unhealthy. Taking interest in it is of course, fine, but not obsession.
I also believe certain groups for like-minded people who want to share beliefs with each other are very usefull. There is so much we can learn from each other. But as I said, I don't believe any two people have the exact same beliefs.
All in all, I am very open-minded and love hearing new ideas and propositions.
Hope I helped. :)

Christians orignally meant followers of Christ. How do I define it? Certainly not by everyone who sits in church and CLAIMS to be a Christian. God already defined a REAL Christian as someone who LOVES God (and he says Christ and the Father are one) and is compassionate to others.

Atheist-
I feel that a "Christian" is someone who lacks a sense of self comfort in their own decision making, and therefore relies on "higher powers" to influence their daily lives. There is nothing wrong with it if you feel that strongly about it, but I feel that Christians could use a bit more looking into themselves rather than trying to wait for divine intervention to take over and rule their lives. Have faith in yourself and you will go further than believing that who is leading you is getting you to your destination safe and sound. No amount of praying can achieve what your mind sets out to do.

Christians are people who are born again by the Spirit of God and are led by the Holy Spirit to live out their new creation lives in Christ Jesus. I am a Spirit-filled and Spirit-led Christian believing in the full gospel, the whole counsel of God.

I'm an atheist and I've enjoyed the company of every single christian I've met. you are warm hearted people with great manners and old school values that i fear are lost in modern society. there are a few bad apples here that give you guys a bad name though. its unfortunate that they make the greatest impact on atheists trying to relate to Christians.
chosen by grace 777 is one of those bigoted idiots i'm sorry to say
