It sounds like what they are getting at is that they want you to do the form again but use your mom's last year income instead of your Dad's. The reported income is based on your parent's last year's taxes (2006). The less your parent makes the more college money you will qualify for with fafsa. I assume your parents are separated or divorced. Go to the fafsa web site and review the guidelines, (which is easy to find, right on the form -if I remember correctly) for which parent's income you are obligated to report- it may be the one you live with most of the time, the one that supports you the most or claims you some how on their taxes. Get it back to your school quickly because what most people don't realize is it is first come, first serve with fafsa and school is about to start!
Good luck.

The quickest and easiest thing to do is to take a copy of your parents tax return and have the school make the correction. They do have the ability to do that and it will be much quicker than if you make the correction yourself.

Im not sure why they are asking for one parent instead of the other unless you parents are divorced or separated. Get more clarification from the fin aid office and go from there.

Also is believe the the link http://lnk.in/4wwx is VERY biased. Just my personal option.
