Actually that is very bad. You are giving your dog empty calories and yes of course your dog likes hot dogs. Dogs eat anything that ppl will give em they are living garbage disposals. You should take your dog off of them so that he will not get over weight. It is alright ever now and then **max once a week** To maybe reward him with a snack like that but is very un needed. If you want to give him a treat get dog bones and maybe like 1 a day for being good. Follow the feeding guide of the dog treat box. Also if he tries doing this when you are eating and you are always tempted to give him food put him in his crate or in another room where YOU will not be tempted to treat your dog. Give him 2-3 dog food meals per day that last for 20 mins to eat what he needs. And FOLLOW the feeding guide

This depends on the size of the dog. If he's a little dog, this could be a big problem. If he's over 40 pounds, he is probably eating enough quality dog food to sustain his health for the short term. However, the consistent ingestion of the chemicals can lead to health problems down the road. Hot dogs contain chemicals that are not even good for humans to eat on a daily basis. They contain nitrates, lots of salt and sugar. Think about it. If you have to give him hot dogs, give him one once in awhile not 3 every day. You are headed for problems down the road and lots of money for the vet bills. Why risk it. Feed a good quality food and keep the hot dogs down to infrequent treats. Liver is a better choice and much cheaper. Dogs love the taste of liver. You could buy chicken livers and cook them up in no time. Keep them in a baggie in the frig to give him a healthy and great tasting treat. You can even buy freeze dried liver and dogs love it. Think about this...if you had a young child or baby...would you feed him/her a bag of candy every day? Probably not. Of course kids love candy and that's all they would eat if they had a choice, but as a responsible parent, you wouldn't allow that. So why allow your dog to eat things that are bad for him every day? Don't do it!

The meat in hot dogs isn't the problem, its the salt content and
the nitrates, dogs don't do well with too much salt and
nitrates aren't very good for anyone. Try to cut down to
just 1 a day , find more healthful treats for your pet to keep
him healthy. My dog just loves raw carrots and if I am eating
them, she just can't get enough. Its the same for just about
any fruit, expecially apples and she also just loves raw
zucchini, yellow squash and cauliflower. If I have peanut
butter toast, she practically drools a puddle (but I don't give
her much of that because of the salt....)
There are a lot of recipes out there for home made
dog treats, try making some, there's a few that actually
taste good enough for people to eat, too.

yes it is bad.. its low-grade meat.. most dog foods contain better quality meats than hot dogs do.. hot dogs also have alot of salt and preservatives which are not good.. not to meantion the fat. Honestly, hot dogs really arent that good for people to eat either.
You need to cut out the hot dogs, if he's hungry, he will eat his food. Small peices of chopped up hotdog are great for training treats, expecially if he enjoys them so much, but not as a daily meal.

Yes, hotdogs are made from byproducts that contain high levels of fat and non-digestible matter which is worse than fillers. They do not provide any nutritional value for him. I would recommend that you stick to a high quality food and a very small treat a day. Dogs stomachs are very sensative to change and you can easily cause stomach upset.

omg that is very bad!!! stop giving your dog hotdogs, its very bad for their health and is like giving him 5 times the amount of regular pet food. Slowly start to eliminate them and feeding him regular dry dog food. It could cause serious health problems.

For the most part it is a low grade meat. And yes it is human food.Which also means you've heard not to give it to your dog. Your dog doesn't need to eat hot dogs. They add nothing but excess fat to your dogs diet. Dogs do go crazy over them. Imagine eating what they eat...but it just isn't healthy for them. Especially so many everyday

I'd cut down on them just because they can start to upset his stomach and cause him to have weight problems if he gets enough of them. Save them as a really special treat and make sure the rest of the time he's getting a good dog food and plenty of exersize.

yes it is bad, think about it, its bad for humans too. (no-brainer for that)
and three times a day??? thats like 3 meals(and then you're adding dog food???). do you know whats IN hot dogs?? well, first of all, fat, sometimes chicken eyes or brains or pork toes or something else undigestable for human consumption, SALT, SALT, SALT, FLAVORINGS, FAT, food dyes, fat fat fat and more fat. theres like 300 calories (or more. depends) in one hot dog (and add the bun, thats more calories and unneeded carbs and etc)
i dont even eat hot dogs (im not vegan or vegetarian either) cause they look disgusting and who knows whats in it???
your dog is liking it probably because thats the only real meat he is eating ("real"). add some meats (quality meats, no salt or flavorings or weird mambojumbo whatchamacallits meats like hot dogs or hamburgers) that you would eat to his diet. you can cook it if you want, but its not necessary. (i feed my dog raw meat)
and his normal dog food should be high quality--- high quality is not iams, eukanuba, or hills, ol roy...etc. you can get better quality dog food from smaller pet food stores. innova, california natural, eagle, abady, etc.
