I recently found out that I've got a rare disease that will probly kill me in about 10 years. I am from Australia and I've probably got about 50,000 australian to get me to LA and get a job and start looking for acting work. I have been acting here for a long time and done some television gigs but now that I'm a gonner I have to just pack my bags and take the plunge before I end up a vegetable. I need to know from people living there what my best course of action would be as I know a lot about the industry in oz but nothing about it in hollywood. I need some insider info please.

Stay home. If you are really interested in acting , stay home and enjoy community acting and theater. If you have a terminal illness stay with the people who love you and will care about you when the time gets rough. I would suggest you come to LA for a vacation and travel

Hope your not expecting anything. Less than 1% of paid actors are actual celebrities. You're probably going to be rejected a lot, even with an illness.
