Yes. This reminds me of a quote from Bruce Almighty.
Bruce: How can you make someone love you without affecting free will?
God: If you figure that one out son, let me know.
If you can't choose to hate, love is not possible. It's really a compulsion spell, a robot spell. The love is in the choice, the actions, not the feelings which fluctuate. You may be able to cast passion and lust, but love, I don't think there is a spell for that. Free will is necessary for love. I don't think it's ethical to do this at all.

Does it matter?
You can't really make someone fall in love with you against their will. What you can do is put your power out there, increase your magnetism, (insert cliche here), whatever. If you get a response, you get a response. If you're worried about whether or not you're "dominating someone", that's crap. The only person who is going to respond to that type of energy is someone who really wants to be dominated deep down anyway. Fear of the karmic boogeyman is nonsense that Wiccans put out there so that they can feel like they are assuming the moral high ground.
All magic really does is project your own will. Assume that everyone has a nature and will of their own and is a grownup that can make their own decisions as to whether they respond or not. Otherwise, all you're just going to fall into the trap of obsessing over whether or not you're really "harming none". No one can do that.
All the best,
Lazarus

Your basically talking about binding someone's spirit, which I would say violates freewill in a pretty bit way. In any case that isn't really Love. No amount of magic is going to cause someone to open their heart to you. That's what love is; two people opening their hearts to each other. If you want to 'make' someone fall in love with you, open your heart to them. Even then there's no guarantee, but it works pretty well.
With love,

using any kind of love spell is violating free will.
you aren't really talking about love, but dating. if you like this person and he is with someone else wait until their relationship is over then ask him out.
if he really wanted out of the relationship he would get out of it.
good luck.

Love naturally goes against freewe will anyways. Its a large release of hormones in the head and it messes with you... but I love it as it puts me on a natural high and makes my life a lot better.

The problem with love spells is not only do they mess with free will, but there is no way to undue a love spell. Once you open the flood gates , how do you undue it? Love can just as easily become obsession. Be careful....

You need to wait until he has given the love to you, as in he was free but decided to be with you.

You may regret what happens.
Leave miserable people alone; they would not know what to do with the happiness anyway ("spend it on beer and pizza.").

dabbling around with spells is an open door to satan himself. He does not grant spells out of love for you. Try prayer instead. God and His angels will be working on your behalf. He [God] loves you.
