I go to New Jersey and Pennsylvania alot and they all say Hoagie there and thats what i say to. But if you say that in connecticut they won't know what you are talking about so i say grinder in CT. People are here don't say sub and ive never heard of hero.

It definitely sparks controversy where I'm from - New Jersey. Especially the North who tend to call it a hoagie, and the South who tends to call it a sub. It's a sub. Plain and simple.

I'm in Utah. Here they call them subs, hogies, and grinders.
Have you heard of the torpedo?
Different but have you had a pannini?
Or a po-boy?
