I know the battery retails for about $50, which tells me that you have to buy it separeatly - but then there might be some hope that it was included with the camera so, I decided to ask anyways. Hopefully, they just sell it in the starter kit so you'd have a spare.

Trust Antoni on this one. It comes with the OEM package.

Beware, however if you buy from some of the "super-low" online dealers who ask you to "call to confirm" when you make a purchase. Several of them will scam buyers by selling the straps, batteries, chargers, cords, etc for highly-marked up prices by pulling them out of the box.

Online, I'd look at Adorama, B&H Photo and Video, or Ritz Cameras.

IF you get the full kit package, yes!
Direct from the Sony site:
Accessories Supplied:
NP-BG1 rechargeable battery
BC-CSG battery charger
A/V and USB multi-connector cables
Wrist strap
Software CD-ROM
Note: No Memory Stick® DUO media or adaptors are included.

BUT the ripoff web sites DON'T ship everything so they can get the price down. Go with a reputable local dealer, Amazon, BHPhotoVideo, Calumet or one of the other fine stores and web sites. At Sony, you can even add a 4 year maintenance plan!

Nice color choice too!

If I remember it correctly, all Sony Cybershot cameras come with a Lithium Ion battery - it's like, their trademark or something. :) You might want to check it out @ www.sonystyle.com :)
