The truck is mint with about 11,800 miles and is leased. The leasee is moving out of the country and needs to have someone assume it. It is the Ultimate upgraded model with just about every option: moonroof, power liftgate and 3rd row seats, navigation, 10 way power seats, wood and satin accents, heated/cooled seats, chrome exhaust, premium appearance package, entertainment package (rear DVD uprgraded CDx6), power deployed running boards, reverse sensing and you name it.
He wants me to assume payment (including tax) of $592.00 for 28 months and asked for 2500 down as he says he put down 10,000. Has free maintenance and roadside for the entire lease...It looks so good...but got worried when I saw the 2500 down. Can a dealer or someone familiar please assist?
Thanks

The lease has a current mileage left that allows me to drive it for 1000 miles a month for the rest of the lease

Sounds like you will be dumping a bunch of money into it, and when it`s all done, you will have to give it back!

How much per mile will you have to pay if you go over the mileage? .25? .30? He already has 11,800. I guess you will have it sitting around for a while. Oh well,it will be fun just to sit in it for a while !

dont listen to those people talking about toyota's, u asked nothing about that. the average payment on a navigator that is not tricked out is about 700 dollars or more with about 4 to 6 thousand down. this is the deal of a lifetime! take it and run and laugh at the end. usually a down payment will be around 10 to 15 percent of the cars price, which sounds like well over 4500 dollars much less 2500. by the way i am an office manager(head of accounting) for a car corporation. trust me, take this car and RUN!lol also, just think about how much of a highroller you'll look like lol.

Here in California it is illegal to assume a lease. I am assuming you are in Florida. I'm not sure about the sale of a vehicle process in Florida.

Check with your local DMV office. Ask the clerk how would you register a lease after (if its possible) its assumed. As far as i know, if the vehicle has a lien with (for example) Ford Motor Company Red Carpet Lease- Ford will not recognize you as the new owner until the lien is satisfied and the DMV paperwork is transferred.
