I know from experience (and an $850 vet bill) that while they may not choke on them, they are very dangerous. They splinter and lacerate the intestines, causing bleeding and infection, then eventually death. Our dog nearly died because of bones eaten from a garbage raid.

the problem usually isn't choking. COOKED chicken bones splinter and can either tear the digestive system or get lodged in a spot and block the digestive system. Raw chicken bones don't splinter, but they're soft enough for the dog to swallow them in biggish chunks so the risk of blockage is still pretty high. For the most part the highest risk is with the long bones (leg and thigh or wings)) and the ribs. It's fairly safe for dogs to eat the neck or the little section at the end of the wings that WE never want to eat.

They don't choke. But they break in sharp edged pieces, and they can cut its intestine. Or block it by attaching themselves somewhere. Not on;y chicken bones, even other bones can do it. It doesn't mean it will happen every single time that a dog eats a bone. He may eat bones 1000 times and be fine. But it is better not to risk it, because the one time that it may happen will be fatal. A friend's dog did die this way.

It is entirely possible for dogs to choke on chicken (or any other) bones. It has been done.
More dangerous though are the small fragments of bone (especially from dry, cooked bones) that your dog downs after chewing on a bone that can perforate the gums and digestive tract. They can cause major problems only fixable with surgery. Never give your dog cooked bones.

They do not choke, but the sharp edges on cooked chicken bones can cause internal bleeding. Raw chicken bones do not do this, and are actually very healthy for dogs.

they can chocke on any kind of bone, if it gets stuck in their throat. but chicken bones can also splinter and be sharp enough to cause internal damage. I tried giving my dog a few beef bones but she would throw up. i found out it was because bones block the passage to the stomach or something like that and the dogs have to throw it up.

I believe they do, chicken bones are smaller than the bones dogs normally chew on, and then when it goes down their throat it gets stuck, just like when people eat fish, they sometimes choke on fish bones which is like dogs and chicken bones. If you want to give your dog bones make sure they're big enough not to go entirely in his/her mouth so he/she can't choke.

I even have by no skill seen a dogs choke on any uncooked bones and that i've got been feeding uncooked for approximately 5 years. that's a waste of time to argue approximately uncooked verses kibble because of the fact dogs meals feeders be attentive to all of it and be attentive to all the hazards, without ever having executed examine on the uncooked meals plan. i be attentive to a pair great reward of feeding uncooked and that i won't have the capacity to be confident otherwise. I constantly ask your self what persons that argue and say uncooked is undesirable, think of canines have been fed some an prolonged time in the past. dogs meals became into in basic terms developed 50 or 60 years in the past because of the fact butchers found out they could make money off the scraps they have been freely giving for loose. whilst i became right into a baby there have been in basic terms 2 kinds of dogs meals and the ordinary public did no longer purchase it because of the fact they felt it became right into a waste of money so they fed their canines table scraps, uncooked meat scraps and uncooked bones and that i keep in mind canines had an prolonged existence span than they do today. i ask your self why that's, thinking a processed meals in a bag is a lot greater suited for them. dogs meals is all approximately money and convenience, no longer the wellbeing of canines. Bonslayer, you're able to pay interest because of the fact I do see kibble feeders foaming on the mouth and arguing over which manufacturers is maximum suitable to feed. whilst kibble feeders point out the incorrect variety they get reamed and insulted. i think of considering all those questions hardship you lots perhaps you're able to ward off answering questions approximately this concern.
