Are sunchokes expensive? Typically, how much are they? Can I get them at any local grocery store?

No more so than a ginger root they are more commonly known as Jerusalem Artichokes and more closely related to the sunflower which earned them their nickname. Ask your green grocer for Jerusalem Artichokes and they will point you right to them.

In Australia they are $6.80 per Kg at the moment. When they are in season, they are easy to find.
