I'm am laughing my rear off! I thought I was the only one! My husband's typing bother's me 90% of the time. And when he is reading something to me outloud, that too bothers me (he rushes through, blending all the words...impossible to translate). It also bother's me when someone obviously needs to clear their throat (you know, that 'rattle') but continues to talk instead. It also drives me nuts when one of our dogs is "cleaning himself"...that sound of "slurp, slug" makes me want to vomit. I have found though, that the times these things bother me are the times when I'm either: trying to concentrate, already irritated, stressed, hungry, tired, or am having such a hard time relaxing, the noise makes me want to commit hairy carrie.
I feel ya.

The sniffling can be very annoying. If I am trying to study or something and someone is pounding away at the computer keyboard than that is annoying as well. I understand why you are getting frustrated. Just offer the young lady a tissue.

I do hear that occasionally, but I am an allergy sufferer too. Sometimes, a runny nose is just allergy and cannot be stopped. On the other hand, a lazy adult would not care about the feelings of others...they don't want to get out of a chair for a Kleenex.
Bring an extra tissue for them, just in case you "visit" again.

All you have to do is avoid university libraries to study. I used to take the books out and go somewhere comfortable and quiet to study. Then you don't get the noise and germs.

The sniffing drives me nuts, makes me want to go postal.
A girl in one of my lectures used to take her computer in and type her notes directly into it. The students got a petition together and stopped her doing it!

My husband goes to town on a chicken leg, drives me nuts, I felt like taking it and knocking him upside the head with it a couple times. I need prozac.

Yes my sister does that all the time, both of them in fact, the best thing you can do to get your mind off it is to plug your ears or just move to another spot/table.

No. I love the sound of keys clacking. I expecially love those IBM keyboards at the banks.
