If you need Word, get it FREE from Ares, no joke I needed it and I could not believe I got it for free. If u use something different from Word, documents can problably not work in other computers when u try to open them with Word.
1- google "Ares". download it and install it. or email me caraepina@hotmail.com and i will send it to u.

2- open Ares. in "search mode" type "microsoft office"

3- when it finishes searching, look for "microsoft office 2003 full" in the list, it is about 600 or 700 kb big. note: dont download "microsoft office 2007" it wont work because u will have to register it via internet.

4- the downloading will depend on the speed of your conection. it may take 2 hours or 1 day.

Ok I did that and now I have it and works perfectly, hope u can do it easily, e mail me if u cant find a good Ares

Microsoft Works has it's own word processor and is usually cheaper or comes pre-installed on a lot of computers. It offers almost all the same functionality of Word.

Hello; Happily Yes there is! One such program is called Open Office... do a web search for it, it's Open source programming, and as such is FREE! They sometimes ask for donations, to keep such stuff free, so do what you feel is right! Open Office is 100percent compatible with MS Office, without giving Bill your hard earned cash, he's got enough!

If you hate vista, there's also Linux XP, Ubuntu Linux, and Freespire Linux; I'm deleting vista from my day old system tomorrow, and installing Freespire, with open office. I may switch to Linux XP with purports to have total compatibility with windows applications, and they only ask for $20 for registration, after you've tried it for 99 reboots! Not bad, compared to MS Windows XP Pro, wich costs $149, at the least!

I hope this helped!
