Why? Because of the almighty dollar. Big business got Marijuana outlawed. Namely the DuPont corp. And a few fanatical individuals following the prohibition of alcohol. I recommend Jack Herer's book "The Emperor Wears No Clothes." The link follows.

Religion and statutory law are related only by coincidence. Marijuana is illegal because legislators (incorrectly) thought that it would lead to use of hard drugs.

God never said He made it to smoke bro..... It does however make good clothing and rope.
Besides, the government doesn't care about ALL of christianity, just the ones that go to church on sunday. Sound bias to you?? Look up what the sumreme court had to say about sunday.....

the drug is from the HEMP plant. It was never meant to be smoked.
But it does make good rope. And even clothes have been made from it.
Same with tobacco.
The leaves on an infected cut make a very good antibiotic.
And even the South American ative poison CURARE can be used on TETANUS patients to counteract the cramping and seizing.

ask the law makers...... not in the Bible.
That being said, the Bible does tell us to not come under the influence of things that we would loose self contol. Like, it's OK to drink but not to get drunk.
