I use the mirror, punching and kicking many times in the air, if you do that you'll get faster and you'll have a greater balance, and you can correct yourself in the mirror. If you punch and kick in the air, you will discover sooner how to keep your stance and balance, cause using the punching bag is like leaning your balance into it. And for the reflexes...i think you'll just have to use a speedbag or a sparring partner. Just try it and you will notice that you're having a great progress

Use wrist/ankle weights and work on shadow boxing.
Hold dumbells while punching.
Do a light enough bench press that you can throw the bar up a couple inches, catch it an repeat.(you NEED a spotter)
Punch a heavy bag hard and fast, for 3 minutes, rest a minute.(repeat 3X) Do this 2X a day/ 3X a week

Ok, lets get one thing straight. Speed is learned. You must learn what muscles to use when throwing a punch or kick, and what muscles to use to bring it back. completely relax and only use the muscle needed to throw the punch or kick, don't fight it with the muscle needed to bring it back. And the same for bringing it back, don't fight that muscle with the one that sent it out. This is the key to Speed NO RESISTENCE. Just like anything else, if Your fighting the flow then speed is lost.

Zen buddhist meditation or tai chi chuan, yet in view that Tai Chi Chuan is composed of the memorization of 108 sequences i could follow zen, notwithstanding place is maximum delicate. Does meditation enhance reflexes? particular it does; massive time, and that i think of that with pre arranged drills, and loose sparring used sparingly, the end result's much extra magnified.

Learn to relax and not telegraph your moves.
Relaxed muscles move faster than tensed ones.
If you never telegraph, you deprive your opponent of any chance of blocking you.
