People believe in the things they can see and not the things they can't see. I've been asked if there is a God why does he let bad things happen to good people. He doesn't yes he has the power to change things but what are doing to help that change. We will buy a power ball ticket and believe we have that winning number for a million dollars and lose it all in one day. Instead of taking that same money and giving it to the church which uses the money ot help the poor We believe in power ball but not Gods word. Jesus said I came to give you life to the fullness in abundance until it over flows. In other words why do we have so many people who are suffing. My answer has always been have you read your bible? Jesus suffed more then any of us and much more then we could Handel. We spend to much time complaining instead of giving thanks for what he has all ready given us. We think more about what we want and not how we can help someone else. We have to be more compassionate, loving, merciful, kind, giving and understanding in our hearts then and only then we will learn the true meaning of our father who created us all.

This is Religion and Spirituality, not "Christians only". Just because some one is not Christian does not mean they do not have any spiritual path, it is just not the same as yours.
This is an open forum and anyone can speak as they choose. Most people who are not Christian have studied MANY different religions and tend to be pretty well versed in most of them. They are generally open-minded and can look at all sides without prejudice. It is sad to say that this cannot be said of most Christians who are convinced unequivocally that anything not Christian must be of Satan. No matter how good a person may be. Therefore I guess Gandhi must be in Hell.

Uh, people keep putting questions to us in this category.
Even though most of those people don't really want to know what we think, but there's no way of knowing that until they choose one of the answers from people they DIDN'T address their question to.
One of the categories I like most on this site is Society & Culture (which R&S is a sub-category of); thus, I see a lot of questions addressed to atheists.
I often answer them.
I DO accept the truth: there is no god.

No, but that line of reasoning speaks volumes about the Christians who preach in the Gay & Lesbian section.
"Non believers" are here for the same reason everybody is here on Yahoo Answers: because we have questions and answers regarding certain subjects.
By the way, you're neither deep nor original. If you bothered to use the search feature, you'd see that this trite question gets asked several times a day.

Not really, it is like why you christians always patronize gays and lesbians category.
In fact, I know the toothfairy loves you because you had a new set of teeth after your milk teeth. With that being said, I think your god hates you because your mentality is still stuck at 7 year old where you have imaginary friend, but this time perverted, it has become an imaginary master.

I've read allot of atheists replies since they're everywhere here, and I honestly think you have to lean back and realize that some people honestly don't believe in God. Some people honestly think God is fiction. The trouble is proving He isn't fiction, but of course, they can't prove He is either.

Because you asked!
Because we know the truth that there is no god! I cannot love him, nor honor him because he does not exist. He is a fictional character much like the tooth fairy, the unicorn and Santa Claus.

Because we still have opinions. If you ask a morality question, we still have morals. If you ask just about anything we still have our opinions on it. I think you know that.
To me, your God doesn't exist. Nothing personal, I'm not "too proud" or anything of the like. I just don't believe.
Why do you seem to think that all of us non-believers really believe "deep down"? Are you thick enough to think that we're just too prideful to accept your god? Come on, non-believing is non-believing and nothing more.
Do you believe in my Loki? No? Well, I think you do, and you're just too prideful and vain to admit it. But still, you really do believe, deep down in your heart...
See how ignorant the statements you made are?

because I have a need to help my fellow man by leading him away from mythology and into logic and science. That is the only way we are going to better ourselves and eliminate wars and murder based on religion.
I bring you to the water so that you can choose to drink and wash away the fog of religion from your eyes.
