you mean Absinthe. It is not legal only in Australia. In fact since the turn of the century it has been made legalize in many countries except that you cannot really see it in the liquor store.

I have taken about 4 shot of it (was my birthday) and guess what I didnt see the green fairy or go crazy ... very drunk yes bot nothing more than that.

Absinthe has a very high alc content but that about all it does. Another version of Absinthe you probably will be able to find easier would be Pernod.

You can read more about the liquor at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Fairy

HAve fun getting drunk

Absinth (not absinti) is legal all over the place, places like Czech Rep. (you can buy it in a duty free store at the airport), Slovakia, and a half a dozen other countries is Europe. It's awsome, I like it, it's super strong but goes down easy, so you need to watch out because you get "F-ed" up in no time. But I haven't ever experienced any hallucinations from it, just got super sick.

PS - To add a little fun fact like that Sunshine guy... It also "told" Van Gogh to cut his ear off.

Here in the USA it is called absinthe and it is illegal due to its addictive and deadly nature - used excessively it kills the appetite and produces hallucinations - even in moderation it is known to cause paranoia.

BTW - it is credited as causing the writing and demise of Edgar Allen Poe.
