Assumming you are religious, what evidence do you need to change your mind? Like finding life on other planets, or prayers not being answered, a new gospel was found proclaiming mary and paul as liars. Name something that would make you think again about the existence of god.

Well, how about evidence that the world is not flat or the center of the universe. Skeptics and scientists were killed by the faithful over this. How about the evidence that Natural Selection shapes organisms. How about recombining DNA.
I think another good argument is that the Bible does not give the schematic diagrams for iPhones; the Bible does not spell it all out.
Perhaps the fact that nobody has ever been murdered by scientists for lacking faith in science. Faith as the religious know it is not required by science, just a general feeling that empiricism is a rather effective epistemology.

Atheists are always looking for what they think will be a final nail in God's coffin. Now you ask for help!? Things must be getting rough over there on the blind side.

I think we both know that life on another planet is not likely to change anything. If an alien being testified to Jesus Christ would you believe it?

For years I have not been involved in thinking about whether God exists; much as I am not involved in thinking that my children exist.

It seems to me there are two problems.
One: Some people seem to lack any ability to touch ideas that don't conform to their own perceptions.
Two: In relation to Christianity: People who consider or reject God are divided by the emotional relation they have established with death.

The mind you ask me to consider changing does not need changing. It works in harmony with the mind of the spirit.

Nothing would convince me that there is no God, because everything thus far has convinced me otherwise. What if there were life on other planets? Does that prove there is no God or just that a creator may like to create in more than just one place? And what about gospels and books of faith? This is about GOD, not religion; as religion has always been the greatest opponent to true faith. I'm also sure you've probably already heard of the watchmaker argument so I don't have to go into that but if you haven't you should check it out; the retaliations to the theory are quite absurd. You also may want to read a book called "Pensees" by a French scientist/polemicist, named Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) He argues that the "seeing" of God as it were, is contingent upon our desire to see God. When people want to see God, they start seeing Him in every facet of their life, explaining why so many people of faith talk about God like they "KNOW" he exists; which of course is just silly for atheists because they cannot see a God in the framework of such "nothingness" to life and how only proximate purpose drives us to accomplish things, as well as science and things that are tangible taking center stage as "proof" of nothing higher than what our senses can percieve. But hey, when it really comes down to it atheism is quite small, and incredibly ethno and chrono-centric. Most people are agnostics if not religious in America, and the vast majority outside of America believe in a higher "being" or "beings" than themselves in some sort of alternate realm. It may be that a very small minority of First World Inhabitants are correct in their thinking; but considering the overwhelming majority of people in the world thinking otherwise it maybe worth a second look without bias.

You are absolutely right, I can't imagine a world without God. if their is life on other planets its b/c he created it,
prayers not being answered- are you praying and asking for the right things
a new gospel - were talking about God, no one else matter, their important in history but it's all about God.
Truthfully God has save my life so much I got into two car accidents, an almost third car accidents, all these the cars were totally destroyed, almost drown as a teenager and killed as a baby, I believe he's proven his true purpose to me and save me more than once, I can't ever doubt him, because I should of been dead a long time ago.

If it were discovered that mice were superior pan dimensional beings who built the earth as a giant computer to generate the question that provokes an answer of 42 as the answer to life the universe and everything.

Then only if there are babel fish on Vogon spacecraft, since only a babel fish can make God go away in a poof of logic.

Blessed Be!

Jesus said all that the father giveth unto me shall come to me
he went on to say that God kept us and that nothing was powerful enought to pluck them out of God's hand. Do you really want to take God on go right ahead. But all you'll prove
is that God does send people to hell. I'll pray for you and hope
your eyes are opened because satan has you blinded. Time
for bed if I die tonight I know I'll awake in Heaven don't you wish you could be sure of that?

Personally, I'd never change it only because of the fact that it makes too much sense and I've seen too many great things in my lifetime prophesied in the Bible to change it and start all over. Talk about a waste of time...

I can't imagine anything that would convince me of the non-existence of my wife, my children, my boss, my God, or anyone else I know personally. The very idea is ludicrous.

As much as I would like to say "this this and this" I can't, because some people's faiths are so inrooted into them, they just can't think that way....they'll just tack on some religious thing...
