Well, you can buy boomerang paint, which is recycled paint. It's very inexpensive and comes in quite a few colors. Here's a link for it:

If that's still too expensive, you can go to your nearest large surface home hardware store such as Home Depot. If you ask in the paint department, you'll find that they often have paint that has been brought back because someone did not like the color. Although you won't get alot of color choice, you will pay it much less expensive.

You'll need to wash the dirty walls before you paint. Use liquid TSP (you can find it at the same hardware store). Use the liquid instead of the powder as it's easier to mix, isn't toxic and you won't have to rinse it off either. TSP will remove all grease and grime. As for the crayon, that's easy to get off the walls. Here's how: Sprinkle plain old baking soda on a damp sponge and lightly scrub the crayon marks off the walls. The baking soda is very inexpensive at the grocery store and it works well on crayon on walls and furniture, without harming the walls or the furniture. To keep the crayon marks off the wall after, hide the crayons :)

If you have a dollar store near you, they now sell sticky tiles that you can buy inexpensively. You can also go to a store that specialises in these and buy boxes that the design has been discontinued and is selling very inexpensively. I highly suggest the latter, as you will get very good quality tiles at a very decent price.

As for other household stuff, have you tried the Value Village stores? It's like a HUGE second hand store. They have all sorts of stuff for the home, including furniture. You can also get inexpensive decent furniture at the salvation army.

As for getting your pink laptop, have you thought about what you can do to earn the money? How about babysitting in your neighborhood? Or walking dogs, or helping old people to clean their house or do errands for them. You could post a notice on a bulletin board near your home (grocery stores are great for this) offering your services. You can rake leaves, water plants, house sit for people on vacation... There's lots of stuff you can do to make money to buy your own laptop.

Good luck... hope this helps!

don't let lack of money hold you back. Use what you have or can find. 1st paint is the cheapest way to change everything to freshness. Walmart has cheap oops cans, ones where they got the tint a little off. You can get paint brushes at Dollar stores. Look thru the $1 fabric at Walmart to make curtains. You can no-sew them and attach with velcro or even thumb tacks. Make throw pillows from the fabric also. I have found the floor peel and stick tiles at Family Dollar and at Fred's, $10 for a box of 20. Choose 3 or 4 coordinating colors for everything and it will mix and match. You can advertise to be someone's Saturday Helper on your school's teachers bulletin board. Teachers often need a babysitter or someone to play with their little ones while they get chores done. Just one day a week but you can save for the pinky!

There are a lot of off-price stores that sell salvage goods, overstocks, and irregulars. I know the ones around here and they do sell those items you want very cheap. I have no idea where you are but I am sure there are the equivalents in your area.

If you go to Lowe's or Sears they have a section where they sell premixed paints that someone paid to have tinted to a specific color and then decided that they didn't want that color. They typically sell those paints for a few bucks per gallon. If the color is one that you can live with then there's your paint bargain ready to go. A gallon can (400 square feet) can do a room.
