I live in southern Illinois and here if you get a ticket, they take your license and you get it back after you pay your fine or go to court.

lose it .. like in "Lost it"? You forgot where you put it? Or did you lose it to the law? If you broke the State Law, you now need to wait till you are mature enough to get one. Age 18. (If that's really mature) LOL
