Bought this @ Ft. Hood about 10 years ago, came in a small plastic tube. Think it was called Glisten or Sparkle or something like that. Is a liquid that smells like windex. What's the correct name and where can I find it???

I think you're thinking of Glisten. It's blue in color and comes in kind of a toothepaste tube. I recommend a product called Seal-n-Shine. It does a far better job and lasts longer. You can get it from www.uspatriotstore.com

The best way I have found to "Spit" shine is by getting a base coat of regular black kiwi and water, use a cloth diaper and rub it into the boots using a small circular motion until the "haze" is gone, after you get a base shine switch over to parade gloss kiwi alternating with neutral kiwi and hot water with a new diaper, use the same circular motion all over the boot (pay special attention to the heel and toe, that way they can see you coming and going lol) this method worked for me and I have been in for 15 years, some will say to use a lighter to melt the polish, if you do melt the polish in the can NOT ON THE BOOT, the leather will dry out and crack if you use heat to melt it on the boot. Try new things and good luck

Glisten used to be sold at clothing and sales but all of a sudden they stopped selling it. I wouldnt recommend using it though, it will crack the leather and will ruin its waterproofness. Use kiwi and spit, it gets a great shine. Now I am glad I dont need to worry about doing that crap anymore, thank you ACU's!

The best I used in the USMC was issued with my gear, KIWI in black and used a deodorant pad for the 5' deep glaze.
