i had a male gerbil too and it acted funny sometimes. im pretty sure that gerbils only last a couple of years, and if it has seizures it just might be old, or sick, but either way, he may die soon. sorry to be negative but thats what happened to mine.

Your pet is having seizures -- TAKE HIM TO A VET. What exactly do you think WE can do for you or him?

Gerbils should never be kept alone -- they NEED the company of other gerbils. However you can't put another male in with him, they will fight to the death. And if you put a female with him, you will soon be overrun with babies. You SHOULD have adopted two gerbils from the same family -- the people you got him from should have told you this.

Now the only way you can really give him a happy life (assuming you get him to a vet and he gets better) is to have him neutered and try to put him in with a female.

PLEASE, next time, BEFORE you get a pet, do some research so you know what you need to give them a good, happy life.

Good luck.
