Please don't feel bad about what other people are saying-there will always be negative comments coming fom someone, whether it is about your hair, clothes, looks, or everything else. If your friends were 'good' friends they would get together with you and help show you some new ways to style your hair instead of talking about you! Salons become expensive over time so finding a way to strecth your style between visits is a good idea. A quick and easy way to have some variety is to have your stylist slick your hair up in the back with a cute design in the front and then buy drawstring ponytails that you attach and remove. They come in a variety of styles and lengths and are simple to apply and take off. Just take care to choose the right colors, plus they are usually on sale. You could also get braids and allow your hair to rest and grow. Surf the web and look for hairstyle books at the library cause they are expensive at the hair store! Last but not least, LOVE YOUR HAIR!

Okay, let's first get over the "If they make fun of you, they're just not your friends" thing. It's true, but their comments still hurt, am I right?
I have African American hair as well. Growing up in a white neighborhood, I got tortured! (Boys would touch my hair and say, "I'm ca-RODED!"). Anyway, here's what ya do:
First of all, start conditioning it like mad. Mayo mixed with mineral oil and heavy conditioner slathered on and left under a cap for an hour once a week is good. Then, get yourself a perm with larger rollers (white, grey, and purple intermixed comes out divine). (You don't have to go to the salon, just pop into a beauty supply store and grab that size rollers.) Forget the flattening: black hair looks kooky that way and any moisture in the air at all will ruin it in seconds. Also, keeping your hair in a ponytail causes little strands of hair to grow around your forehead that don't look very appealing.
If you do the above things, you'll end up looking fab and, trust me, it's the best revenge on those people who have insulted you.

I know how you feel! I went to this cheap salon to get my hair done and the lady there cut it way shorter than I wanted it and the cut was REALLY crappy. Like, seriously, I looked like a 5 year old on crack. ( lol... maybe that came out wrong...) and then I tried to et it at least halfway decent for school... and I looked like an old lady. And I looked like that for school pictures too! Now that it's been about a year it's long enough to get it re styled. But still, that was the WORST haircut I've ever gotten!! The best thing to do is prolly to just wait it out and put your hair up in ponytails or pigtails. That's what I did...

If you listen to anything I'm about to type, listen to this:
Do NOT cut off all your hair!
If you like it straight, don't be afraid to flatten it. A good way to keep it from breaking off, is buying a better straightener. The higher the temperature of flat iron, the faster it'll straighten. Hair can handle heat, but not for a long time. The cheaper straighteners usually aren't as hot as the more expensive ones, and with that, you'll have to keep it on your hair longer to get it straight, and it'll make your hair start to break off. If it starts breaking off, use a deep conditioner. I also know something you can do that will moisturize your hair and it'll be like new again. Take olive oil, put it in a cup and heat it up. Then put it in your hair. After you've done that take saran wrap and wrap it around your hair. I know this sounds crazy but it worked for me. Then put a warm towel over the saran wrap and leave it until it cools off. When you've done that, take a shower and shampoo your hair twice. Do NOT condition it. Believe me, I used shampoo with shampoo and conditioner combined into one and it was so greasy from both the oil and conditioner. Once you've washed your hair, it'll probably still feel like you've got nasty oil in it, but once you dry it it'll feel good again. :]
As for the hairstyles, there are lots of magazines just for cute hairstyles. There are also websites that you can go to that have lots of different styles.
A way to spice up your hair is hair accessories. Berets are always cute, along with headbands. You can also use clips and those stick things to put your hair up.
Tell your friends to lay off. Tell them that what they say hurts and friends are not supposed to hurt you.

Only rude peple hurt us intentionally. Do not allow them to do that to you. In other words, no matter what they say, don't give in to hurt feelings. Just say, Thank you, brightly and they will feel really bad for being mean. While you are at the salon, try to get some pointers from the stylist, something you can use when you are doing it yourself. Good Luck and know that not all of us are mean and vicious!

I would have to stylist cut the damaged hair in to a cute style that you can upkeep your self. In between salon visits, use a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, you can also try a protein conditioner to help strengthen your hair.
don't worry about what people are saying, don't cut off all your hair because people are hurting your feeling you may regret that.

Go to a wig shop or maybe mall and buy a clip on hair piece. pull your hair back and attach it to your ponytail it will look like a professional hair do.
It will also allow your hair to rest.
Do conditioning treatments twice a week.
Give it a rest and after it is healthy then try something new.
I wish other peoples words didn't hurt so bad .
I wish I could help more.

Think about it. Are they really your friends? If all they care about is making fun of your hair, then just leave them alone for a day and hang out with some other people. Maybe they will brainstorm and think of why you left ehm. And apologize. If not just tell them to back off. You like her hair so if they dont tell them to get off of your case.

In each and every faith, or non faith, you come across people who're impolite "and scathing" with their feedback? look on the question and the distinctive solutions. There are destructive and useful in each and every difficulty. I propose which you do not go right into a query the place you sense that they are performing negatively, then you definately won't get "harm" i don't propose this disrespectfully, because of fact I certainly have been in an analogous spot as you in the commencing up, yet have discovered that if i don't desire to sense pissed off I could desire to maintain faraway from the questions that frustrate me. you're able to desire to be easy approximately this. Christians persecute Atheists besides. Muslims, Mormons, Jews, are all persecuted with the help of people who're decide psychological. you may't "want" people to act or think of the style you do. All you're able to do is artwork on your self, to be the appropriate guy or woman you'll be, and depart persons by myself to stay their own lives. I for one, have suitable ethical values, yet my values will possibly not continually be comparable to yours. you're able to have self belief one way and that i ought to have self belief yet another. that would not make you suitable and me incorrect, or visa versa. Christians have a mix of useful and destructive people of their midgst, as do Atheists and different religions. not each and every Atheist is impolite etc. and not each and every Christian is impolite etc. i'm not Atheist and that i'm not Christian, a minimum of i don't belong to an prepared Christian faith. Do you easily think of that each and one and all Atheists don't have ethical values? i comprehend many Christians who haven't any ethical values by any means, yet i don't condemn the entire Christian faith for it.
