My dog has (i think) Sarcopitc mites on the tips of her ears. She's a cockapoo and she has the ears that fold over. The doctor (the last time[this is the second time shes had it]) gave me this yellow stuff that smells like rotten eggs (i think its sulfur i think) and so i applied it on the area where the mites are, and both ears became inflamed. I was wondering (becuase right now i dont have the money to take her to the vet, i wont have it for another 2 weeks til i get my check) if there is any over the counter medicine that i can use to stop the inflamation and to get rid of the Sarcoptic mite (scabie mites). I would REALLY appreciate it if someone can get back to me because im worried about my dog. All she keeps on doing is shaking her head.

You probably didn't apply it like the Vet said, which would be all over, because the mites were likely in places you did not see as well. If a human gets scabies, they get a lotion from the doctor that they put on their whole body not just where they see the scabies clearly are located.
Best bet would be to see if the Vet that treated her before would let you make payments or write a post dated check to hold until after your pay day but go ahead and treat her.
Wish there was something you could do that would be effective and SAFE besides Vet but I wouldn't try it if it isn't from the Vet or recommended from the Vet!

I understand that you do not have the money at the moment to take your dog to the vet, but you really should call the vet tomorrow morning and explain your situation. Most veterinary clinics offer payment plans for just this type of situation. Give it a try - you might be surprised at what you find out.

P.S. I really wouldn't mess around too much with sarcoptic mange - it's contagious and not just to other dogs. It's contagious to humans, too.

sarcoptic mange isn't topical. It wouldn't JUST be concentrated on one area, and you'd have to treat the whole dog. The ointment you're describing is sulfur based and wouldn't normally be used to treat sarcoptic mange anyway...it's much more often used with ringworm or fungus...although it MIGHT be effective against scabies.

the thing you might really want to consider is that scabies can be easily transmitted to humans. It's really more a pain to treat if YOU get it than it is if your dog has it. For that reason alone i'd find a way to get to the vet.

you don't, not safely anyway. different types of mites (sarcoptic mange is transmittable to you while demodetic is not) need different treatments, both of which need prescription medicine. don't try something over the counter or a home-remedy...they will not work and could harm your dog when you're really just wanting to help him. check with your local animal shelter - they may know of a low-cost clinic that may be able to help.

Sarcoptic Mange would affect more than just he tips of the ears.

Try to see if the Vet will allow you to take a post dated check. You really need a med that is prescription controlled.

sorry, there is nothing OTC. She needs to see a vet to confirm that it is sarcoptic, and then get the proper medication for it. If it is sarcoptic, you can get it too!

See if you can borrow the money, or see if your vet will take a pre-dated check... try one of those cash advance places for some cash.

I haven't seen any good results with over the counter stuff. Call your vet, tell them your situation, and see if they might recommend a cheaper form of treatment. I know my vet always discusses options with me when I'm a little tight on cash.
