If you share 100% with your sibling, then you would have 1/2 the same amount of blood with your 1st cousin since 2/4 grandparents are the same and then 1/4 the same blood with your 2nd cousin since 2/8 great-grandparents are the same?

I'm sort of confused, and I'm sure I'm confusing you all as well, but somebody explain exactly how much blood you share with your 1st cousin and so on.

No, since you only get half of your dna from each parent. Even siblings only share 1/2 dna--since they don't get the exact same halves from each parent. So you only share 1/2 with your parent, who shares 1/2 with his sibling, your aunt or uncle. So you would only share 1/4 with your aunt or uncle. And since your aunt or uncle's child only shares 1/2 of their dna, you'll only share about 1/8 of their dna.

Well, I don't really understand this "blood" thing that you have going on here. Genetically speaking, you don't share 100% with a sibling. It is more likely somewhere between 25% and 50%. I would estimate that the amount of genetics that you would share with a 1st cousin somewhere between 10% and 20%.

Remember these numbers are my own estimations but I feel comfortable with the percentages.

Only if you were a double first cousin; otherwise, you share 1/4 your ancestry with a first cousin.

no, because you have 1/2 from ur mom and 1/2 from ur dad. then your cousins have 1/2 from their mom and dads. so u would really have less than 1/2.

It is confusing if you think about it too much. So I don't. I have double cousins, our mothers are sisters and our dads are brothers.....so we call our cousins brothers and sisters.

i have no clue what you are talking about.. like a "blood relative" and what % they are??? that's outrageous... just go with "he's my second cousin twice removed" that's way more accurate

To find the answer to your question, you need to learn about DNA.
