No, I don't think that people who have issues are more likely to get a tattoo. I didn't suffer any kind of abuse and I don't do drugs or anything like that and I'm covered in them. I deal with them on a day to day basis because I work at a tattoo parlour and people from absolutely every walk of life get them. Society is finally starting to accept tattoos for what they are, a personal work of art. I think that's the main psychology behind getting one, you see a piece of art that you want to be with you forever, and you get it. Nothing more, nothing less.

No i dont think so people get tattoos because they want to being abused or depressed has nothing to do with it people have been getting tattooed for centuries before this so called hype where is it seen to be cool to have a tattoo. my partner is covered in them and i have them as well he has no history of abuse or depression whereas i have had both so go figure...Psychology behind it : its called art people love having art on them and most people get tattoos because they represent something to them a time in there life, a loved one etc etc
