Both drugs have different active ingredients.
Nyquil has aceteminophen in it, the basic ingredient of Tylenol
Motrin is a NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug)
Mixing the two won't hurt SO LONG AS you take them in the proper doses. Your liver won't be damaged SO LONG AS you take them in the proper doses.
Did I mention taking the proper doses? :)

yes however if you are having break through pain after taking Nyquil your may have something other than a cold....The pain medication in Nyquil is acetaminophen or tylonol...DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING WITH TYLONOL while taking nyquil. That includes any pain medication with APAP in the title...Hydrocodone/APAP, Oxycodone/APAP...acetaminophen is very easy to overdose on and very hard to catch if you do...and NO this will not effect your liver it will kill your kidneys!!! As for combining the two Might I suggest...taking 2-3 over the counter ibuprofen tablets about 2hrs before bedtime or nyquil time...this will introduce the acetaminophen into the system about the time the ibuprofen is half way metabolized...be careful when mixing any drugs even over the counter drugs!!! watch for abdominal pain, nausea, dry mouth, muscle cramps and confusion !!!!

I don't think so, I believe that NyQuil has a pain reliever in it, if you look on the back of the bottle at the ingredients and see acetominophen (tylenol) or asprin, it doesn't make sense to take an additional amount of pain reliever.

Nyquil already as Tylenol in it. Why do you need to add ibuprofen?...If you combine the two you risk clear liver and kidney damage

You realize that is the equivelant of generic codeine? It's not wise to mix medicines. If it is necessary, than call your docs office and talk with the RN.

If you're doing it only once it's ok. Don't do it day after day.

It depends on you. If an extra strengh Tylenol will put you to sleep I would not suggest it.
