first thing is measure the rise (how tall the step is) then then run (how deep the step is) add the 2 measurements together and multiply by the number of steps 15.5 in your case because you will want to put runner on the last rise up to the platform then devide by 12 (12" in a foot) the standard measurement of a rise and run 18"-19" and add a lil for fudge room. if it is a standard step w/ no lip on the edge you be looking at 24 ft to 27ft.

There are standard rises and runs (edges and steps) that staircases must meet. I think they are about 8 inches for one and 9 inches for the other. So call it a foot and a half for a step. That would make the whole thing about 23 feet long. Add some more just in case and get about 25 foot long section. Double check that estimate at the store but budget for about that length.

get an inch measure from a sewing store or craft store or get a measuring tape from a hardware store. or get a school ruler if you have the patience. 12 inches makes 1 foot.

I would measure the step, but if that is not possible, measure a foot per step
